Best Nivin fight scene is the end of Action Hero Biju. The whole film is leading up to it, we seem him doing the boring everyday tasks of a police officer, and then finally we see that one moment when he puts his life on the line and proves he is willing to do everything for this job.
Best Nivin film is Premam. As a film on its own, I would say it is equal to Bangalore Days and OSO, but of the 3, it’s the only one where Nivin really takes the lead and the whole movie is just him.
First Nivin film that made me notice him, Ohm Shanti Oshana, I saw Bangalore Days and didn’t care at all, but OSO! With the beard and the slapping and the motorcycle!
Nivin plus Dulquer plus Prithviraj, can we just do Amar Akbar Anthony? Prithviraj as Vinod, Nivin as Amitabh, Dulquer as Rishi? I debated over the last two, but I think Dulquer would be able to do “young and charming” better. And Nithi Menon can be Neetu, Parvathy can be Shabana Azmi, and Nazriya can come out of retirement to play Parveen Babi.

Do u think nivin is a better actor than fahad fazil?I know nivin is more attractive and cute. And his films are more fun to watch.but in terms of acting potential,ability to perform variety of characters and complex emotions do u really think he is better than fahad?

I don’t think he is better than Fahad, but I think he might be the nice midpoint between Fahad and Dulquer, in that he has an ability to play a wide range of characters and disappear in the role, but also the ability to be the chocolate hero type of handsome.

I posted in the comments section of your link to the most recent YouTube video about JHMS but the information might be worth repeating here for anyone who isn’t reading that.
The iTunes version of this film is flawed. The subtitles aren’t in sync with the dialogue–they lag significantly behind the spoken words. After a long time on the phone with a very friendly iTunes tech support guy, he determined that the issue is with the digital version iTunes is selling. At his suggestion I reported the problem to iTunes (there’s a link in the email receipt iTunes sends you) and they refunded my money. And asked that I wait three whole weeks to repurchase so they have time to fix the problem!
I wrote this information in response to a comment over there from another reader who’s having the same problem. If anyone else is, I recommend you report it to iTunes and maybe, just maybe, they’ll fix it faster.
I also mentioned there that I had also purchased the YouTube version and that the iTunes version is much better, aside from the subtitle syncing problem. The video is clearer and crisper and the translations are better in the iTunes version. Now, if they can just fix the subtitles all will be well!

Just watched Action Hero Biju and I loved it!! Definitely Rewatching this and Premam soon. It actually felt more like an extended romcom than a feature film.

That’s what I was thinking of! When you were describing a “real” man and his muscles. Obviously, Nivin bulked up like crazy for that film. And I love his version of a “real” man, calm when calm is needed, angry when angry is needed, and tough and ready for a fight when that is needed.

That’s interesting! My local Indian only theater is advertising a deal that is similar, if you buy a card for multiple movies at once through CostCo (I think), it’s a lot cheaper film by film. It makes sense, to have a guaranteed monthly income instead of worrying about how you will do film by film. But then it would also be frustrating when you feel like you are “losing” money when the big release surge comes, and forget that the same monthly subscription is carrying you through the dry months.
Although, with the monthly rate, that may not be true. I could see people subscribing during the summer and then canceling in the fall when the big new releases dry up. Theaters might like it better if it was an annual commitment, so they knew it would carry them year round.

I could definitely save money, it’s just the hassle of going to costco and blah blah blah that is preventing me. Which is a sign for why this system probably works so well, you can just order something in the mail and do it all online.

Scenario 2. Because scenario 2 leads to more possibilities for scenario 1, you know? I mean, that’s what happened with Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Dilwale. They weren’t exactly massive hits, but they were successful, and that gave him the freedom to try new things.
Plus, I always want more SRK fans in the world!
