HAPPY DIWALI!!!!! And also, Happy 14 Days to Shahrukh’s Birthday! Oh, and just like for Dussehra and Karwa Chauth, I temporarily updated the site header. (this is an updated and reposted post from last year)
So many options! I took a dive into youtube and pulled out whichever ones struck me most.
I’ve actually never seen this song before now, but I love Johnny Walker always!
Another one I hadn’t seen before, but Dharmendra and small children? Who could resist!
Shatrughan Sinha and Hema Malini!
Of course, this one. Which I almost forgot was a Diwale song! But that’s how it’s introduced, right? The chyron says “Diwali-10 Years ago”?
And finally, so cute! So catchy! So cannot get it out of your head once you listen to it!
I love Diwali for all the light…especially in the night…and I think, those little lamps I see in the header (and see during my trip through the archives) will always, always remind me Aish in Devdas and her little lamp that never died…till the end (beyond every splendour Bhansali displayed it was this lamp that impressed me the most).

I was in Mumbai at Diwali a few years ago. The lights strung everywhere, including Mannat, has always stayed with me.

Happy Diwali to you and all of DCIB’s readers and commenters! Also–I’m feeling nervous–does the “also 14 days to Shahrukh’s birthday” mean that there won’t be a separate post for that today? 🙂
