Happy Fat Tuesday! Songs for Bodily Indulgences, Food and Otherwise

Happy Fat Tuesday!  I just waited in line for 20 minutes to buy Pazckis and by the time I got to the front, I decided to just get a full dozen because I had earned them.  This is supposed to be the day we gorge ourselves after all.  And to help us all get into that mood, FOOD SONGS!  And also other songs, but they are hiding under the respectable food ones.

First, this is a Pazki:

Moving on, I am going to put one of the best food related songs at the top, because I know at least a few of you will be waiting for it until I put it in:

Rajshri is always good for some food love.

Angamaly Diaries, to make you desire meat like never before.

Video from the “wrong” Premam, but at least the cooking scene is cute!

Fat Tuesday of course isn’t just about food.  It’s also about general excess and indulgence.  For instance, also drinking!  Starting with some classic Amitabh.

Classic Aamir, the song that he actually got drunk for/during.

I can never remember if Shahrukh actually got drunk for this song or not.  But it feels like he might have.

And now the ultimate indulgence, our sexy songs!  Starting at the top.

This song is just ridiculously fun

Continuing the Katrina theme.  I think I like her best as an Item Girl.

Can you believe they are talking about redoing this song with Jacqueline Fernandez?  Is NOTHING SACRED?

More Madhuri!  Always more Madhuri!

To gently ease us into the other gender, here is a nice song with eye candy for all of us.

Another one

Finally, all male!

I love everything about this song

Okay okay, you can stop panicking, I was saving it for the Big Finish.

If I missed anything, any favorite food/drink/body song of yours, feel free to put it in the comments!  It is Fat Tuesday after all.  INDULGE!  For Jesus!

    • I knew it! And I also know that someone is going to give me grief for not including Prabhas. But he doesn’t have Fat Tuesday appropriate songs! Or if he does, I don’t know them.

  1. I started watching Prem Ratan Dhan Payo last night, fun! Hubby got into it too.

Aamir getting drunk for that song is so very Aamir, which is either hilarious or eye roll inducing depending on where you land on the love him-hate him spectrum.

As an aside, I showed my hubby the What’s Under Your Blouse song and he’s now a Madhuri fan 😉

Speaking of food, seriously considering this tour of India: https://www.intrepidtravel.com/us/india/india-real-food-adventure-107532

    • It is SO Aamir! Have I told you my favorite Aamir story/rumor? Supposedly Mangal Panday was delayed like 6 months because he insisted on growing his own mustache. Which is very Aamir in the dedication, and also makes me laugh because now we all know he isn’t manly enough to grow a mustache in less than 6 months. Plus, can you imagine the back office staff? Calling every week “So, Aamir, how’s it looking? Can I start rescheduling the shoot yet or is it still kind of patchy?”

If Hubby liked “Choli Ke Peeche”, definitely show him the second one from this post. NOT Ek Do Teen because she is and looks 19 in that one. Still a great song, but not quite the same kind of sexy.

        • At least the whole crazy Dangal schedule, he explained to people, that he wanted to gain the weight, pause filming and lose it, then start up again instead of going the other way so he would have a motivation. But the mustache? Another fun one, he put Dhoom 3 on hold because first he wanted to learn acrobatics and get a “gymnast” body. And second, he took out 6 weeks to learn tap dance. And if you have seen Dhoom 3, you know that he looks like someone who took 6 weeks to learn tap dance.

          • Oh oh! Another story! While they were promoting Dangal, they talked about how close Aamir got to the real people, spending time with them in their village and all that. And also, one of the daughters was getting married around the time of the film release, and Aamir was attending and possibly helping to pay for the wedding. Which all sounds good, until the stories started saying he was also helping to plan the wedding. Can you imagine? Having Aamir Khan decide he was going to take over this little village wedding? The sweet seller starting out all “oh how neat, movie star Aamir Khan is calling me!” and then 3 days and 200 phone calls later “NOOO! It’s Aamir again! We JUST finalized the menu, what more does he want from me????”

  2. Maybe you were just focusing on Hindi films, but THE food song of all others is Vivaha Bhojanambu from Maya Bazaar (Telugu).

Here’s the colorized version, though the audio seems a bit off. If you have a better link, please replace this.

    • Rats! I just watched the song and realized that it leaves out the best part (and most fitting for Fat Tuesday), where he eats all the goodies. So here’s that part. Sorry it’s broken up into two bits. The impact is better when you see it all together.

  3. Just wanted to suggest another Food song from Salt n Pepper movie, which even smells so nostalgic for all malayalees

Thats the link, whether the link works, not sure

  4. Let me blaspheme here and declare that Aga Bai is and shall remain the best indulgence song because it has something for both men and women!!!! And it’s literally the both of them indulging too!!! Prithviraj 😍 😍 😍

    • Aga Bai is pretty wonderful. I wish Madhuri had done a sexy song ever with someone of equal sexiness. Can you imagine her and Prithviraj in Aga Bai? Or her and Akshay in “Tip Tip Barse”? She had sexy co-stars, but it seemed like when it came to songs, they just like Madhuri do her thing while the guy watched instead of participating.

        • I can think of many songs where the end result has been equal attraction. “Tip Tip Barse”, or anything with John and Bips, or “Goliya” from Asambhav. But I don’t know if you could necessarily argue that the filmmakers intent was the same, that the female gaze was being served equally to the male gaze, or if it is just that some actors are SO FREAKING HOT that the equal their female co-stars even when that isn’t the intention.

Also, some boy pointed out to me once that their are actually sexy scantily clad women behind Shahrukh in Dard-E-Disco. I’d literally never noticed them before, but he’s right, they are there!
