I’ll go back to Madhuri posts in a bit, but first, Race 3 Trailer!!!!!! FINALLY!!!! And the most important part…..Anil has a beard!
Race 1 and 2, like every Abbas-Mustan movie, relied on a series of complex psychological games and tricks, the characters never knew who they could trust and the audience didn’t either. Action scenes tended to be intense one on one stand offs as people monologued their elaborate plans.
And now there’s this. Which seems like just a straight up action movie. Maybe a little bit of a twist, there is a standoff scene there, and a reference to them as “family”. But mostly the trailer focuses on explosions and car chases and big fights. And there are enough different ones shown in those little clips to make me think the action moments might be most of the movie.
I like Daisy Shah in her action bits, that’s cool. Love Anil Kapoor being a cool dude. And explosions aren’t necessarily bad. But I hope there’s more than that. This is one film where I am really waiting for the song trailers to see if there is a little more to it, moments of fun or romance or something.

I was bored out of my skull watching the 3 hour trailer…they should have stuck to Abbas Mustan. Salman Khan brought along Remo, Daisy Shah(eek!!), Jacqueline (who I don’t mind) I’m just glad Anil Kapoor is still there. I REALLY wish Akshaye Khanna could be there, who was the best part of Race for me. Also Saif, who looked really hot in the 1st part. Ugh I’ll probably watch Race again.

Yeah, explosions and car chases get repetitive real fast when there is no plot included. I honestly have no idea what the plot is for this. Something about a heist maybe?

Race is SO FUN!!!!! And even Race 2 wasn’t bad. It wasn’t as good, but Anil was still there, and Saif was still cool and hard to read, and John was hot. This thing, I don’t even know. It just doesn’t feel “clever”, you know? That was the best part about the Race movies, and Abbas Mustan in general, their scripts are just so clever! Everything always fits together just right.

Exactly!! You’re always on the edge figuring out stuff. Especially Race. The twists kept coming, and the songs, though copied were really catchy. And Bipasha is really good in these kind of roles where she has to be seductive and sexy. And Akshaye Khanna!! Oh I miss him!!

I don’t like it at all ughh Salman sorry but IMO he just can’t act at all hes great for action parts but not acting just doing the same things and being soo predictable why did they have to kick Saif out, I actually liked all the twists and turns thats what keeps me watching but this is just a regular action movie and you can tell what will happen just by looking at the trailer theres no shock factor I rather have John than old salman romancing Jac atleast John is hot to look at and please why Jacqueline and daisy again they CAN’T ACT atleast deepika could act in race 2 instead of making it up with action sequences like these two such a disappointment want the old cast BACK!!

It’s an odd thing becuase I don’t think of the Race series as something with tons of devoted fans. But it does have a distinctive identity, and there were two enjoyable movies. And I think I wouldn’t be very interested in this action movie no matter what, but putting the Race name on it just makes it feel even worse, forcing me to compare it with other slightly more interesting and inventive films.

They should just call it Kick 2 instead of trying to take away from Race. I was actually liked the race series and was looking forward to it until I saw the new cast

I was thinking the opposite, Kick should have been Race 3, it was way more of a “race-y” kind of plot, with twists and surprises and grey characters and all of that. While this just looks like fight scenes and explosions.

4 things I loved in this trailer (from less to most important)
-Anil’s beard
-Bobby Deol entry
-Bobby Deol shirtless (first I thought it’s the other guy but then I looked better and was like: wait, IT’S BOBBY, LET’S SEE HIM AGAIN)
-Flying squirrel
3 things I hated:
-Daisy’s acting
-The other guy acting (who is he and why he is in this movie? He and Daisy look like teleported from Hate Story or other trashy movie)
-the fact it doesn’t even feel like Race, but more like another Tiger zinda whatever

That’s enough for me to see this movie, that and Anil’s beard. I don’t know why he didn’t let himself go grey years ago, it looks amazing on him.

LOL flying squirrel scene is at 2.30. I watched it now for the third time and it’s still funny, and Bobby is still sexy.
And as Niviblog I felt like rewatching first Race. I only wanted to see some scenes but it’s too interesting and I’m watching it all.

Aw, disappointing, I thought it was an actual flying squirrel, like the animal, that was Salman’s little buddy.

Oh yes! Salman loves his little squirrel only to discover later it was with him only to steal bank passwords and stuff. It would be the most surprising twist ever 😉 I would prefer this story instead of all those guns, helicopters and bazookas.
Btw does somebody in Salman family have helicopters rental office? It’s in every Salman (and not only) movie lately .

For a while there it felt like YRF bought a helicopter and then decided to justify the expense by putting it in every movie. Now I wonder if it is because the special effects company has a helicopter explosion computer file they can just load in instead of creating a new visual.
And yes! Is it too late for us to rewrite Race 3? Saif could voice the squirrel, the surprise twist is that he was murdered and then reborn as a squirrel and has been plotting his revenge this whole time. And the happy ending could be Bipasha Squirrel showing up as his reward for remaining faithful to her memory. No no!!! Scratch that! Akshaye Squirrel!!!!! He died and obsessed over vengeance since the first movie and now is using Salman as his tool to get back at Anil.
