Saaho Trailer! I Still Have No Idea What is Happening

Finally, a full length trailer! This will answer all our questions and make sense of everything. Or, not so much.

I am so glad I didn’t stay up waiting for this trailer. Because even though it was dropping “today”, it turned out not to release until 5pm India time, meaning I would have had to stay up all night. Instead, I went to bed and then woke up and there it was. Like magic.

Okay, it seems to be saying that Prabhas is a dangerous undercover cop Shraddha is a crime branch cop, there is a city of criminals where the criminal Prabhas is chasing is hiding out. And then Shraddha and he fall in love but Shraddha is killed? Or maybe there was some kind of trick between them because she tries to shoot him later?

It’s possible this is exactly what it seems to be, Prabhas is an undercover cop chasing criminals and romancing a crime branch woman. But it feels like there is some twist that is teased but not revealed, right?

I don’t know, what did you think?

  1. As with most Prabhas films (the non Bahubali kind), I try not to think. I just enjoy this big, handsome goof and wish that he would do more comedy.

  2. I love it. Not just because he is shirtless but how much fun this looks to be. Initially I was skeptical about the romance/ song sequences with Shraddha but then I didn’t want a Madmax Fury type, dark action movie either. This seems the big spectacle action, romance masala movie with silly punch dialogues that I want to whistle to in theater. God knows there hasn’t been a decent one in years. I may cross over to complete fan mode and watch this first day first show.August 30th can’t come soon enough.

    • I do like Shraddha’s line about not shooting him in the heart because he has no heart, but what really makes it is his wry smile in response. Yes! That’s the kind of hero I want! No more sensitive angsty deep heroes, I want a big stupid action hero who takes one lines and smiles in the face of danger.

  3. lol as far as I can tell, this is Orange and Teal: The Movie. Aside from that it reminds me a lot of 70s spy/crime massala movies, but that seems too much to hope for. Anyway, while anything is better than the grey/grey/black/dirt/grime colour schemes, I don’t know if I can watch a whole movie shot this way.

    • Well, at least the love songs are supposed to be very romantic and colorful looking!

        • Well, there’s also the nice black of the cars and motorcycles and stuff. That’s different!

  4. In yesterday’s Telugu media, I read an interview of Prabhas where he mentioned that 137 movie scenes were cut by the dir and AD for this trailer.

And it’s all crazy among the Telugu fans for Saaho – much bigger response than Mahesh Babu’s “Sarileru Neekevvaru” teaser released on MB’s b’day last week.

  5. Somehow I completely manage to ignore everything that was going around this movie for the longest time until I decided to randomly check out the promotional material today and I’m actually intrigued! The production values are high and the film looks great, really can see the huge budget the movie had and the supporting cast seems good, but I’m really interested in the Shraddha-Prabhas relationship though I’m still a bit fuzzy about what that is?? Like they’re partners, fall in love, then he does a bunch of morally questionable things later?? Whatever it is that last bit with them with the gun really got my attention! Loved Prabhas’ smirk-smile at the end! If that relationship is the center of the story then I think I might really enjoy this!

    • Yes! When the casting was first announced, my reaction was “I hope Shraddha doesn’t have much to do”, but after seeing the trailer, I am really intrigued at the idea of the romance and action plot weaving together.
