Saturday Small Talk: Chat Away While I Arrange My Living Space!

Happy Saturday! I am so excited to be able to focus on my little projects, instead of having to do work-work.

Last night something terrible happened, my Mom got to pick the movie and I LIKED it! A movie picked by my mother! The HORROR!!!! Anyway, you should see it if you haven’t, Dumplin’, a nice little Netflix movie about growing up and friendship and mother-daughter stuff and beauty pageants.

In other news of my small little world, today is the day I decide if I am going to embrace the cardboard boxes around my room and integrate them as tables and maybe a standing desk, or do we rearrange the closets and find a place to tuck them away. On the one hand, it would be nice to have more surfaces, but on the other hand, it would be nice not to look at a bunch of boxes everywhere.

And once again I wonder, why can’t moving be as pleasant as it looks in this video?

And today is Akshaye Khanna’s birthday! Which no one seems to care about, poor Akshaye didn’t even get views on his songs post that I put up yesterday. But surely SOMEONE cares, right? Tell me, do you care? And if so, why? What makes you care about poor Akshaye?

Why does no one love him??????

  1. I was scrolling through Einthusan movies and found a film with this plot: “An independent woman and an old fashioned young man discover themselves through marriage”.
First I thought: WOW, interesting, but let me first learn more about it. I’m so happy I haven’t started the film because it was written by Selvaraghavan, and it looks disgusting judging by the plot: man and woman marry; after some time she still doesn’t want to have sex: the guy rapes her, she tries to commit suicide, is saved, they divorce but he still “loves” and to convince her he tries to kill himself; he doesn’t die; happy ending.
All this plot looks like a bad joke, and people really pay to watch this stuff. Amazing.

    • This sounds terrible! I am so glad you investigated and saved yourself first.

  2. Watching Agatha Christie’s Poirot on (free sight, annoying pop-up ads in the beginning, but once gets to watching an episode – adjusting the quality to 720p or 1080p it will all goes smoothly, just click on the next episode and it gets less annoying quickly) it is so refreshing to have the time to watch these again! They are so good and David Suchet is such a perfect Poirot. They showed these for years on TV, but since the series ended it does end up popping up again, especially during summertime. Perfect series to spend time with.

    • Oooo! I have access to that legally through one of my dozens and dozens of streaming subscriptions. I love the new Miss Marple, but I haven’t checked out Poirot, now might be the time.

      • Do it! The costumes and production are top-notch! Suchet is magnificent and for a first-time watcher, they are a must 😀 Some do expand on short stories, alter a bit of the story, but it is wonderful to watch anyway. Also, in the later episodes/movies, there are a lot of now-famous actors that make their appearances there

        • I want them to expand on the stories! I have most of the stories memorized, if they kept it the same I would be all bored. that was one of my favorite things with the new Miss Marple, they slightly changed things just enough to keep you on your toes.

  3. I started Shimla Mirchi but I’m giving up on it. It’s doing nothing for me, much like all Sippy’s movies. Rajkummar is charmless and looks weird in a way I can’t put my finger on, he keeps telling what’sherface to smile, the woman is also charmless, everything else sucks, and to top it all it has Shakti Kapoor in the year of our lord 2020. Shakti Kapoor! And I don’t even get Govinda to make up for it! The only thing I like is stalker Hema. Come stalk me if you need a target, Hema.

Does it get better? Does it have more dance numbers?

  4. I saw every Akshaye video you posted – he was so good looking when he had hair. Does that make me a horrible person to admit? And just like with SRK, Madhuri always seems older than everyone, but the choreography on their video together was super cute. Oh I saw Gulaab Gang the other night. It was great. Juhi was great. Madhuri was Madhuri, and now I wish my wardrobe had more pink in it.

    • I think with Akshaye, Madhuri actually is older than him, plus might have known him when he was 13 and visiting his Dad on set in the middle of filming a sex scene with Madhuri. Ick ick ick!!!

So glad someone watched all the videos!!!! And yes, he does look very different with hair. It kind of balance his sticky outy chin.
