Yes, it’s Sexy Saturday! I actually remembered this week! And a nice time for it, so we can all get a little lift.
We just watched Khoobsurat as a group on Friday (honestly my favorite part of the week, you should all join us next Friday! It’s crazy fun) and it is sooooo sexy. In a subtle kind of way, little hand brushes and eyes meeting and stuff. Anyway, made me wonder what is everyone’s favorite go-to sexy sexy movie.
Just to get the obvious out of the way, Jab Harry Met Sejal! It’s all about the constant sexual push-pull between the two, for the whoooooooooooole film.
Alternatively, going totally old-school and probably stopping the conversation in its tracks, Abhimaan! Young Jaya and Amitabh as a newly married couple happy together in the bedroom, sooooooooooo sexy.
Okay, what is your favorite sexy movie? And why (if you feel like sharing)?
For me it’s 96. The scene when Ram eats using Jaanu’s fork, when they walk without touching but there is so much tension, or when she tells him to sit on the bed with her and he is affraid there will be sex. And let’s not talk about the scene in the end when she puts her hand on the stick shift and they finally touch.
I aslo find Mirzya extremely sexy, but I’m not sure if it’s the movie or Harsh. Maybe both.

Ooo, 96 is a good one! Like JHMS, it’s the thing that is always there but not spoken fully between them.
And Mirzya of course, all of that wild imagery.

JHMS for me, but also Parineeta for the period drama longing and Saif and Vidya just killing the sex, Mirzya for obvious reasons, Khoobsurat and Aiyyaa are now on the list, Raavanan (the longing, the tension and Vikram *chefs kiss*) and Paheli in its folk tale way

Ooo, Paheli is a good one! And I am proud to have brought Aiyyaa and Khoobsurat to your attention 🙂

They were the best kinds of movies to fall in love and discover with a group 🙂 Always more enjoyable when there is someone to talk to and technically not talk over anything

Really? Everyone feels too plastic in that movie to be sexy to me.

JHMS of course, but I do have to give Jodhaa Akbar a shout out for having the LONGEST pre-sex sex scene, and the sword fighting scene, and the watching him scene, okay a lot of scenes in that movie. I guess mostly I do think of scenes rather than movies.

Oooo, Jodha-Akbar is a good one! Another one that is all about sex without being about sex. They live their lives and get to know each other, but the sex thing is always between them.

Geeta Mera Naam for Sunil’s S&M chic, Raabta for Jim Sarbh. Sharmilee and Jab Jab Phool Khile (but basically anything) to stare at Shashi’s (and Rakhee’s) face. For Govinda, Kismat is a good one because he’s thicc and Kabir Bedi is in it, and Ilzaam because he’s very young and gets tortured shirtless. I also have a weakness for Saudagar, for Nutan, that lesbian song, and Amitabh’s legs.

So glad you are here to bring us down to earth and away from this “the unspoken tension between the two characters” poetry!

I think, I have a linited range despite the fact that I’ve watched a looot of Indian movies. There is nobody except ShahRukh who transports erotism the way ShahRukh does (in my feeling)…so basically, I would always choose JHMS where he oozes what I always loved in Hollywood screwball comedies (or other Western movies)…the mutual attraction without making love (but wanting to make it).

Btw, it also reminds me of the Georgette Heyer books I loved during a certain period of my life (and maybe would still love).

Georgette Heyer is so good at building tension and connection between characters!
