Happy Birthday Siddharth! “Southern Sid” as you are known here. 41 today, and still looking somewhere around 23.
Sid is one of those men who is blessed/cursed with a body and face that never seems to age. This isn’t even an actor thing, it’s not plastic surgery or dieting or gym body, it’s just some guys are born with face shapes and body shapes that freakishly never age. You can’t get that promotion at work because no one takes you seriously, your wife keeps being mistaken for your mother, life sucks. On the other hand, you can start fresh with a new job and everyone thinks you are the exciting young guy, and you can divorce your wife and remarry and no one raises an eyebrow.
And as an actor, looking eternally youthful means you can play the “college kid grows up” plot over and over again. But it also means you never get offered the fun stuff like “troubled aging cop solves mystery”. Anyway, for Sid’s birthday of “NO WAY! He can’t be 41!!!!”, let us look at all those actors.
Aamir of course. With his soft face and little body.
Aamir at 24

Aamir at 34.

Aamir at 54

See???? He is clearly aging, but not like normal people! If you look at all the photos in a row, you can see the changes. But you sure wouldn’t say Sarfarosh Aamir was 34 if you just saw that photo in isolation, right???
And then there’s the birthday boy himself, Southern Sid.
Siddharth at 24 (in the blue shirt)

Siddharth at 27

Sid at 30

Sid at 33

Sid at 36

Sid at 39

SEE???? Again, he’s aging, there is a difference photo to photo. But he could walk into a college romance plot today, no problem, we would all believe it. And he’s 41!!!!
And finally, Shahid Kapoor! Who is 39, can you believe it?
Shahid at 22

Shahid at 25

Shahid at 28

Shahid at 32

Shahid at 35

And now, Shahid at 38!

Who else am I missing? Does Vijay belong here? What about Maddy?
And what is our deep down feeling about these guys? Do we like the child face never aging, or do we find it slightly creepy?
Can’t say I’m a fan of this never aging boyish face look. Don’t know enough to comment on Siddharth here but am mostly neutral on Aamir and Shahid. Usually like their work but don’t find them attractive. I think there are a lot of famous men out there who are aging gracefully without being boyish looking that I personally find attractive. Like Milind Soman or Keanu Reeves who’s clearly a vampire.

What about Mahesh Babu? Had the baby face going till at least 40.

Oh yeah! And he’s tall too, which means the face had to be even more baby-y to counteract the height.

You could have put Shah Rukh on this list up until about age 50. Maybe that’s the Rubicon, even for the most baby-faced.
Re: Aamir, I saw this photo this week as people are talking about the new Dune movie, and is it just me or does this look like an Aamir twin?
But if you look at Kyle MacLachlan today he aged nothing like Aamir. So maybe that’s the alternate universe Aamir where he didn’t drink from the fountain of youth.
Oh, one other actor who has looked the same age forever is Johnny Lever. But not in a chocolate hero sense!

Oh wow Kyle Machlachan!!!! Maybe it’s the eyes and forehead? But then their cheekbones and chin are totally different. And as they aged, those features got more and more important? Anyway, you are absolutely right! And you should post it on The Twitter and start a Trend about it.
Fat cheeks are an ageless blessing. I think this all the time with both Shahrukh and myself. If you’ve got a round face with fat cheeks, you look about ten years younger than you actually are, all the time. And then Shahrukh got really lucky and instead of his cheeks falling into jowels (my possible future based on genetics), the fell inward and his face got attractively thinner in old age instead. Shahid looks to be going the same way, nice round young face turning into chiseled older face. But Southern Sid is just a mystery to me! How does he keep that teen boy gaunt look going into his 40s?
Agree about Johnny Lever. And along those same lines, Anupam Kher! He went bald at like 30, and just leaned into it and started playing 50. And now he’s 60 and still playing 50!

Yes, I was thinking about Anupam too as the counter example!

And Boman Irani! It’s been 16 years since Main Hoon Na, he looks exactly the same.

Sid and Shahid still look generally look the same and it’s weird! Am I in the minority when I say that I feel like Aamir has aged pretty badly? He keeps on losing hair and those ears just get more and more noticeable every day! I feel like his prime was definitely around the mid to late 90s and then after that nah. I didn’t find him attractive for the longest time then I watched Dil Hain Ke Manta Nahin and that was a revelation.

Aamir has definitely aged badly! Not super super badly, thank goodness no awkward face lift or anything and he has decent fashion sense and keeps his body in shape and all of that. But his face bones just aren’t there to give him that super hot striking appearance now that his soft baby face is gone.
I mean, we’d all still probably do a double take if we saw him walking down the street, but as a movie star? Eh.
