Varun Dhawan Week: Pick His Best Looks!

He doesn’t have that much variation in the looks, but there is some there! At least enough for us to be judgemental (it doesn’t take much).

  1. Dishoom: the suit makes him look almost grown up, and his body looks better than when there are no clothes
  2. Kalank: guy liner. Almost always a good choice
  3. Sui Dhaaga: Small town hardworking husband is a good look on anyone
  4. Badrinath: the haircut is really try hard, but it also gives him cheekbones
  5. ABCD2: The earring. The rest is good, but the earring
  6. SOTY: just a little too shirtless and hairless
  7. Street Dancer: This is when guy liner isn’t a good choice
  8. Judwaa 2: He should not have long hair
  9. Badlapur: REVENGE! It’s not attractive

  1. Sui Dhaaga – I just thought he was SO CUTE in this film. So cute. I saw that photo and smiled and sighed. I didn’t have that reaction to any other photos, though I am often a sucker for a man wearing kohl.

    • He does look cute in that! And I think the new look really shook up his acting too. Or else just highlighted it. anyway, I think he got more in character in that film than in any other.

    • October is SAD!!!! I chose to ignore it. Although the beard/hair is good.

    • As someone who has seen October, do we want a sequel happy ending? What would that even look like? Dan gets a dog? Dan befriends a small child? Dan finds love again with a woman with some kind of disability he meets through arrange marriage meetings (like, his parents have him meet someone and he notices the blind/deaf/wheelchair older sister and proposes to her instead)?

        • Yes, now I am all happy about it! It can start with him wanting to fulfill a caretaker need, and her wanting to feel less of a burden on her family, and then grow to be her confronting him with her real humanity and personality, him beginning to see her as a person instead of a project, and understanding that she doesn’t want to be taken care of, she wants independence. They can both grow as people (maybe he finds her a training program so she can have an actual job with the plan of them getting a divorce once she is independent), and eventually realize they now love each other.

  2. 1. “Kalank” – It really is the guy liner. I have dreams about this look.
    2. “SOTY” – it’s only high because you included Humpty in the teenage stud and that was my favorite look of his before Kalank came out. Plus I’m the token young reader of the blog so obviously.
    3. “Dishoom” – Dare I say, classy?
    4. “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” – Not a huge fan of undercuts, but the scruff makes up for it.
    5. “Badlapur” – I mean, you gotta give credit to this makeup department for successfully giving a 28 year old man gray hair that’s believable.
    6. “Judwaa 2” – His nerdy character looks better. This one is a little too unruly.
    7. “ABCD2” – GAUGES!! BLERGH
    8. “Street Dancer” – The blonde ruined it
    9. “Sui Dhaaga” – When the photos were released, I sent them to everyone I knew, even the ones who don’t care about Bollywood, because I hated the mustache so much.

    • Well, this is the reason no one is watching Hindi films! you turned them all off by sending around ugly mustache photos.

Also, have you watched Raees? Downer of a movie, such sweet guyliner.

      • I have! Loved the liner. It was the first Bollywood movie I ever showed my dad, particularly because he wanted to watching something with Shahrukh and of all the ones I sent him, that was the one that seemed up his alley. Political, gritty.
