I feel a little bad because I asked for suggestions and votes and stuff and then I just went off and picked something totally different. But on the other hand, I picked a movie that I know people will really REALLY want to watch. Oh, and it’s on Netflix
Om Shanti Om! No one doesn’t love this movie. I feel pretty comfortable making that claim. And it is a great mother’s day choice! I’m shocked no one suggested it already.
- Written and directed by Farah, a “mother” for the film itself
- Kirron Kher gives a fabulous performance of mother love
- The whole plot starts because Deepika is going to be a mother

Kirre is in Finland and SHE always manages to make Friday Watchalong!!!! Granted, she is also a young student person with ever changing sleep patterns, but still!!!!
Alternatively, you can just read all the comments the next day. The beauty of a film like this is that you know it so well, you can just play it in your head while reading the comments without needing to actually rewatch.

I watched SOTY with the comments and it was all the stuff I wanted to say all the time. Seriously, many times I was actually expecting them to kiss before I remembered what I was watching.

Why do you live in Europe!!!! Or, alternatively, why do I live in AMERICA!!!! In the Before Times, I did watchalongs very rarely, only when I had a day off and could do them midmorning and capture maximum time zones. But now, on a weekly basis, mid-afternoon is unfortunately the only thing that works for most of my readers. You and Miss Braganza in Japan and Sal in Australia and Angie in Italy are all out of luck.
Although Memorial day is coming up! You are inspiring me to maybe double dip and do a midmorning/European evening watch.

Just wait for the post-interval songs. Big and dumb and sunny. The non-song stuff is kind of dark and sandy, but the songs are a blast.

This makes me so happy! I was about to suggest this movie for the same reasons you mentioned when you asked from the chosen group where mothers are present movies and also took suggestions. I thought you had already thought about it and rejected it so I didn’t write it up.
It’s not on Netflix here, but it is on Eithusan and I love this movie so much (my depression mood cure-all movie along with Amar Akbar Anthony) it really doesn’t matter. I love this movie so much I couldn’t be happier that you just chose it! 😀

I am so glad!!!!! I’m pretty happy too! This is the first weekend I can’t go home to my apartment (because someone else is there right now), so I wanted something to really blast out the cobwebs and make me happy again. Obviously, OSO is the best choice.

And yeah, I have a messy sleep schedule since I am a Night Owl and since I am writing/studying my attention or inspiration to do important stuff comes at night anyway. Maybe it is the quiet, the silence in the house and just the relaxed mood that enhances it all, but it makes watching these movies at 23:00 PM so much easier than it would be during the day when there would be so many interruptions in between.

The kids have started to recover this movie…first only through some songs, then through scenes preceding or following the songs…and soon, we will watch it…and I’m immensely happy that they tell me that they don’t need subtitles – I just should tell them what they need to know 🙂 🙂 🙂

I used to do it on twitter, but since I started these weekly lock down ones, I switched to just DCIB comments, and it is sooooooooooooooooo much easier.
