Yaaaaaay, one of my favorite movies. And possibly the first Indian movie I saw in theaters (I say “possibly”, because I’m not sure if film festivals count or not). Anyway, I am excited to share it with all of you!
It’s fun, it’s funny, and it’s a wee bit long. But the time moves easily. You can watch it on Prime but you probably shouldn’t (I don’t trust Prime). Instead, try buying or renting from youtube or googleplay, or the einthusan UHD version (not standard version, that doesn’t have subtitles and looks a little cruddy too).

I just saw this. I generally agree with your policy for the Bachchan family but I saw the news story covered by reputable press like BBC, Guardian and so forth so I can believe it.

I wonder if this runs into whatvwe were just talking about with the Aish post? The Bachchans always give direct information, but on the other hand Aish is obsessive about her privacy.

I think it makes sense. She is definitely very very private – even more so than most private people. And given that this also had to do with her daughter, I imagine she is even more obsessive about her privacy.

I love that the film makes a nod to “crime doesn’t pay, and then flips it and says “nah, it totally does, have an exciting life and be happy”

Sorry I couldn’t join in. 5:30am is not a good time for me. I watched it yesterday evening instead (I hadn’t seen it for ages). The subtitles on Prime were OK. Had I been joining in this morning I would have made a comment about the awful, clunky outfits in the Nach Baliye song. Some of the dance steps were a bit clunky too…
And Babli must be made of strong stuff – dragged out of hospital minutes (?) after giving birth looking fresh as a daisy. Not a ‘baby tummy’ in sight and how was she managing post-partum bleeding? Wonder woman, ha ha.

Oh, and I had forgotten that Tania Zaetta is in it (Kate – the bride to be in Agra). Australian actress/tv host who has been in a couple of Indian movies.

She is so great in this movie! I wish she had the chance to play more “clueless white women”, because she was way better than the actresses they usually use.
