Friday WatchAlong! See Don 2, Right Here, in 24 Hours at 3pm Chicago Time!

Woot, Friday WatchAlong! I may still spend all day flat on my back with my foot elevated above my head, but at least Friday WatchAlong is still happening, life is not totally abnormal.

Don’t know why, suddenly had an urge to see Don 2. And I mean, why not? Twisty plot, Kunal Kapoor, good car chases, nice songs, Berlin, it’s all good.

It’s on Netflix and the usual other places, at a little before 3pm Chicago time I will put up a placeholder post and then start the comments at 3pm on the nose and we can comment right along here. I’m excited!

    • Oh yeah! And he’s nice bad-but-not-irredeemable in this one (versus Don 1 where he is just Evil)

      • I wish I didn’t dislike Priyanka and what she did to him because a 3rd with them would be fun….i.e. they meet again, really have a love story and he dies in the end so he can be redeemed….but NO movie with her!!

        • Sticking with my argument that they should just kill Roma to set off the third one. There is no “happy ever after” for the couple anyway, and having someone besides Don kill Roma would send the character in a really interesting direction.

          • Ah, kill Roma off. That works for me; he could be really really bad the whole movie, then die to save her sister/cousin/ best friend…..

          • I’d go for him being really really bad all movie in quest for revenge (setting up gangsters to be killed, ruthlessly destroying the lives of everyone he suspects, etc.). And then suddenly turning good to protect someone at the end.

  1. Oh I wish I wasn’t working! I love this one!! And ditto what Molly says, he is so good at being bad! My sister and I were trying to recast the new Aladdin movie and we decided that SRK would be a PERFECT Jafar (In case you’re curious: Boman Irani would be The Sultan, Vicky Kaushal would be Aladdin, and Ranveer Singh would be the Genie. We couldn’t figure out someone for Jasmine, because my sister has the BIGGEST girlcrush on Katrina Kaif but I wasn’t so sure.)
