It’s Jim Sarbh’s birthday week! And also, Vaani Kapoor! Two actors who have been in two DCIB all time favorites. But which should we watch this week?
Raabta
Pros: Jim Sarbh being amazing and over the top, Kriti being charming, great ridiculous plot.
Cons: SSR movie, is that still too sad?
War
Pros: Hrithik and Tiger lighting the screen on fire, “Jai Jai Shiv Shankar” song, much to snark on
Cons: We already did it for a watchalong just a little bit ago, not enough songs
Too sad! I was having a bad day and forgot I didn’t want to watch Dil Bechara. Sigh.
Should I hold off on War? Just started watching it while I was sewing … and then … something terrible happened.

Don’t watch War if you aren’t in the right mood. It’s an action movie, but an incredibly stupid one. Like, you have to turn off your mind and emotions and just roll with the stupidity.
Also, don’t watch War if there is a chance we will pick it for the Friday movie because it would be so fun for you to see it with us for the first time!
Definitely do’t watch Dil Bechara, that’s just madness, no one should see it. Raabta is a super fun happy movie, on the other hand.

I already watched Dil Bechara. Sadness. Just as an aside, if I hadn’t known he had taken his life, I would have thought he was really amazing at acting bipolar. Knowing, I can tell he was not ok.

How interesting! The last movie I saw him in was actually an anti-suicide film, which is weird, but he did a great job disappearing into the role of the father of a boy who tried to kill himself.

I know I just said I don’t usually come to watch alongs when I haven’t seen the movie, but Raabta is intriguing, it looks sweet despite the terrible reviews. That said, I’m still sticking with my reasoning and leaning towards War. I know we did it already, and I was there for it, but it would be great to make those same snarky comments and be able to look back on them later all in one place instead of everyone’s separate Twitter accounts. And it’d be my last watchalong of the summer before work starts up again, so it’d be a great sendoff.

Raabta is amazing! And I think you would like it, it’s ridiculous and silly on the same level as War and Student of the Year.

I’ve already seen War with you so I vote for Raabta! Hopefully it will be like last week and I’ll be able to see the whole thing.

Jim ❤ Well, Raabta has my vote although I would watch either of these movies at any time! There aren't really any other good Jim Sarbh options, because Neerja is too sad, and while I might think Padmaavat is perfect for a snarky watchalong, I guess most people here don't agree. Only problem is I think he shows up too late in Raabta for me to make his entrance.

Whereas in War, all the good stuff is frontloaded at the beginning with the romance flashbacks. It is a puzzle!

Someone needs to give Jim a starring role so we will have a better option next year.

Unfortunately, this Friday and next Friday are a maybe for me for the watchalong. Work’s been crazy and my husband is out of town for work. But I love War and Raabta so, I’ll try and join as best I can.

You were gonna be my tie breaker! Shoot, now it’s still tied between War and Raabta.
