Friday WatchAlong: Saturday or Friday? And Jaan-E-Mann or Zindagi Na Milagi Dobara?

I’m back! I did three things yesterday: gave myself a pedicure, hugged the dog, took a nap. So, real productive. And now I got through that day and I just have to get through the next and the next and the next. To help with that, let’s give me something to look forward to! WatchAlong!

First, just scheduling, Friday at 3pm Chicago time or Saturday at 7:30am Chicago time? Either one works for me equally well! I’m just gonna go with the majority (slightly weighted towards those of you who are more regular attendants if it comes down to a tie:)).

Second, what movie?

Call me crazy, but Jaan-E-Mann has an almost hypnotically happy effect on me. It’s very very weird, but strangely beautiful too, and with a super happy ending. Oh, and it’s on Netflix.

Alternatively, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara! Also beautiful, also soothing, also a little odd. And I guess would complete our Hrithik series, so that’s another bonus. Oh, and also on Netflix.

  1. It may be redundant to make a proposition as I never can be with you at the screening…b u t IF I cou, I certainly would choose Jaan-E-Man, the fist (an only interesting) movie of Shirish.

      • I adore it…bold and sensual and innovative…and I think I#ll never understand why the heck he premeiered it against Don…such a stupid (and arrogant???) move!!!

        • Yes! I actually saw both movies opening weekend, I was super excited for Don, and then I ended up loving Jaan-E-Mann far more. But of course I was the only one.

  2. I would be up for either movie. I love them both. My schedule is a bit crazy this week. Friday I have work plus I am gamemaster and have to come up with trivia questions for family game night that starts at 7:00 pm CT but I think Friday works better for me this week. I can only do the first hour on Saturday and then I have to take my crazy, sweet, giant puppy for his first formal training class and then to the groomer. Fun fun!

    • I read this like 4 times before being pretty certain you were talking about your dog and not your husband. Right? yes?

      • HA! I desperately needed a good laugh today and this was it. My husband – to my knowledge- isn’t jumping on or humping strangers, so for now, yes, I’m just talking about my dog. 🙂

  3. My vote is for Jaane-E-Mann. I’ve never seen it, and lately I have a hard time getting myself to watch things I’ve never seen. Comfort food and comfort viewing, but maybe my comfort viewing could be expanded? I think either day works for me.
