I feel like I am underselling this. Forget the “my parents” part. Think instead of a massive choral concert by world class group that mixes classical and gospel, introduced by the Mayor of Chicago and her wife. Anyway, it’s good! If you want a pleasant concert experience in your own home.
For the past 3 months or more, my parents have been rehearsing and then recording for this concert, it has been agonizing and challenging and just plain hard work. But the result is really nice! This group is just amazing, both very good musically, and just sort of special and warm as a singing community. It’s founded and conducted by a world renowned conductor, and everyone is welcome. It’s this wonderful hodge podge of musical backgrounds and personal backgrounds all coming together and making amazing music.
So if you are missing a live Christmas concert with that flavor of different people coming together, this is a great substitute! It had a live premier, which was fun, but now the video is just sitting on youtube for anyone to see. (If you hate choral singing and live concerts and stuff, eh, probably not for you.)

Yes, that was my favorite too! I got super sick of hearing it when they were rehearsing, but it was lovely hearing the voices together.

Yes! When he picked me up from German tutoring in high school, my old German teacher looked at us together and said, “well! You can’t deny HER!” Very strong family resemblance.

I totally picked your dad out. It’s much easier among a handful of menfolk. I was looking for Amitabh and he and his beard were really the only contenders. Glad you gave us a cheat sheet!

My parents really really miss choir singing. There’s something special about people working to make music together, not for money or fame, but just because they want to come together and sing.
Yes! He is Amitabh! It’s harder with just the little face photos, at the live concerts it’s super easy because he’s a head taller than everyone else.
