Well, this is worrisome. I do not understand what he is doing in his new song. Is he….okay?
Amin Hajee is a friend of Aamir’s, was co-writer on Swades and a bunch of other films. And now he is directing his first film, which looks low budget and thriller-y. And for some reason, Aamir decided to do a cameo in an item song.
And for some reason he did the cameo with a pipe (?) and a casual jacket while at a nightclub? And the cameo involves the sexy night club dancer being sexy at/to him even though he has a pipe and casual non sexy night club clothes? Also, he does a lift which is really weird looking because he is much tinier than she is?
The whole thing feels like a combination of this song in terms of costuming:

But I still find it weird and confusing and I am not sure why Aamir, out of all the friends who are making movies and would like him to do an item song, has chosen this song in this movie.
Is he just really bored at home? Is he having a midlife crisis (again)? Is he being blackmailed?

Aamir’s a wonderful, complex actor; he can change on a dime. I never considered him particularly hot, yet I LIKE this vid. It may have nothing to do with the movie, but the little guy is sexy. Although, I’m still not a big fan.

Theory: this is Aamir doing a cameo as “himself”, but his offscreen image isn’t as polished as his fellow Khans. They went for something not too far from his quirky intellectual vibe (pipe, tweed) but a little sexier, and ended up at scruffy informal. I do think the khakis were a mistake, dark jeans would have worked fine and made him look a bit taller. He looks fine though, moves well and partners well with Elli (who is an amazing dancer and would make anyone look good).

It is totally unclear what the song has to do with the movie it is in, but I thought Aamir was fine. And people are only watching the song because he is in it, and the song basically works up to an ad for the movie, so marketing wise it worked! I wish Kunal’s acting kept pace with his appearance. He is the one actor I really like in ensemble films, I love to look at him, but in the films in which he is the lead, well I tend not to finish them because he isn’t enough.

I agree. Unfortunately, I don’t think he has any interest in being a traditional romantic hero in a light hearted rom-com that is solely focused on him and the heroine. Actually come to think of it, I can only think of two of his movies where he is very clearly the lead: Luv Shuv Te Chicken Khurana and Nobelmen.

Have to agree, I found him kind of off-putting in that role. Don 2, on the other hand, loved him as the morally ambiguous secondary romantic storyline.

Oh I saw the song teaser couple of days back and meant to share it here but I guess I was traumatized by booty-slapping Aamir! I was feeling embarrassed on his behalf. The full song is less awkward but I still can’t deal with it, nope!

Kaali Naagin is all about Rani, I can’t tear my eyes off her to look at him, plus he’s trying to give lecherous expressions, which isn’t attractive at all.

For me personally, sexy Aamir is “Mitwa” from Lagaan, and “Pyar Ki Nashe Hai”, I just really love that one!!!! Oh, and anything in Sarfarosh except the wet song where you can see he is balding.

YES! The booty-slapping was SO traumatizing!!! To me, young Aamir was so charming and adorable. Probably not sexy but he did make my teenage heart go pitter patter.

Yes, young Aamir was my childhood celebrity love, before Shahrukh swooped in! And I never saw him being ‘sexy’, probably why this makes me uncomfortable. Plus, it’s been ages since I saw him in a normal persona on screen!
