Oh, and another less selfish personal question, if you could spend Halloween hanging out with one ghost of Indian film, who would you choose? Like, a dead real life person, not Paheli Ghost?
I wanna hang with Yash Chopra! Such a nice man, apparently everyone loved him. I want to spend All Hallows Eve with him and be all warmed and cheered.

Bunty aur Babli 2 trailer is out!!! Kinda upset they edited Abi out, but Saif is a good replacement. Not mad, because he is good Iin EVERYTHING. Rani, always a queen.

And, I did some internet research…Rani said that Abhishek was approached to reprise his role but “things didn’t work out with him”…I wonder what is that code for…did he want more money or a larger role?

Same! Great actors, comedy, most likely a good soundtrack. It is a nice throwback to the good ol’ days when every movie didn’t try to be serious or a period drama. Especially after the drought of movies this whole real world situation has brought a comedy will be fun!

It also looks like a comedy that’s not gonna rely on stereotypes or insensitivities to be funny, which is really refreshing for Bollywood. My question, for anyone, is do I need to see the original first? I haven’t, and it seems like a direct sequel, I’m just not sure with Saif replacing Abhishek if it’s one of those quasi-sequels or just has the label since it’s the same story.

You NEED to see the original! It’s one of the all time BEST movies out there, and it is a direct sequel. Rani’s character is very distinctive and exactly the same as in the original, I recognized her immediately. Saif looks to be making the role his own, but the plot is still related. And really, the original is SO good!!!

I watched hocus pocus for the first time on Saturday in a theatre and was so disappointed. Is it something that people like because they watched it during their childhood?

I don’t know! I never watched it in my childhood because I thought it would be too scary. But now I feel out of synch with the world because everyone else my age has seen it and loves it.

It is not scary for sure. It is a comedy. Not to make assumptions but during the movie there were chuckles here and there but not any other reactions , which to me meant in general the movie is average. Most of the people watching were 30 years or older and I decided the only reason people came was for nostalgia. Only thing that made the experience good for me – the theatre had a taproom attached so I got to enjoy a beer while watching.

I have only seen Hocus Pocus and Death Becomes Her and I definitely feel like I get more out of Death Becomes Her than Hocus Pocus. But I think that maybe because I did watch HP as a kid and it was too scary and sad for me as a kid. Death Becomes Her is just so campy and funny that it wasn’t scary for me and I could enjoy it easily.

The storm arrived here tonight and now they canceled school for tomorrow. First time school is canceled for rain that I can remember, but probably everyone is keyed up after Henri and Ida. It means I get to sleep in and don’t have to pack lunches, yay!

Devika Rani! She was awesome, learned make up and hair and acting and all while in Europe. You could hang out with her, and she could give you a full make over.
Also, what with thinking about where you are with the storm and stuff, I thought you were talking about Alice Guy Blache in New Jersey! You should totally try to raise her ghost over Halloween and hang out with her. Her studio was over in Fort Lee.

The trailer of Varudu Kavalenu came out the other day and I’m quite interested in this movie among the movies coming out soon. It looks more dramatic than expected but I think it’ll be a decent watch.

Hopefully releases in theatres where I live. Debut movie for the director who is a woman, which makes me want this want to become a hit. I think for woman directors the first film is more do or die compared to male directors.
