Friday WatchAlong: FilmiKudhi! It’s Your Week! Go WILD!!!!

Normally letting people have the birthday pick on their birthday week is a lovely last minute surprise. In this case, apparently FilmiKudhi has been counting on it and planning for it for weeks! So I expect her to have her choices locked and loaded.

Common sense limitations: has to be available easily streaming, with subtitles, AND at a standard length (like, 70s movies tend to have a 20 minute variance between different services)

Also, nothing that is a downer, so even if you really really want to pick something like a tragic story of female infanticide, I won’t let you.

Otherwise, sky’s the limit! Pick a movie, pick a day, pick a time!

  1. First, I would never want to be presumptuous because this is your blog and you can decide you don’t want to do a birthday pick and I would accept it. But thank you thank you for being gracious enough to give me a birthday, pick. YAY!!!! I have been looking forward to this!

Okay, picks are on Einthusan with subtitles. Yes, it is not my website of choice but these movies are so good and only available there. Okay. I will let anyone who would like to join pick between two

    1. Chori Chori (2003) – Rani Mukherji, Ajay Devgan, and Sonali Bendre. Remake of the Hollywood film, Housesitter. Everyone in it is adorable and funny. It is just an all around happy movie with great comic timing from Rani. One of my favorite Rani movies.

    2. Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin – Young Aamir and Pooja Bhatt. Remake of It Happened One Night. It was also remade into a movie with Raj Kapoor and Nargis cooincidently also called Chori Chori. It is cute, sexy, happy, and fun.

I can do Friday but would prefer if it was on or after 3:30 CT. Saturday always works for me. Whatever works best for anyone else that wants to watch either of these movies.

Also, in what universe would I pick a downer like a tragic story of female infanticide for a watch along?

  2. It is a holiday weekend and with any luck I’ll be able to navigate the pitfalls of kid sports to be in Death Valley both Friday afternoon AND Saturday morning, so I don’t get to pick. However, I will say that I’ve been a fan of young Aamir Khan lately! The kids and I started watching Dil the other night.

  3. Oh Chori Chori. I remember commenting that Ajay was acting like a bed post during our friends watch-along. And then one of them confronted me that Ajay doesn’t seem to be my type at all. *fond memories *

Won’t be able to watch along either way , tough. Kind of busy with the kids.
