I did Best Goofy Songs already, now it’s time for love songs, and then only Dance Songs will be left!

No Ranking! No need to pick One Winner! Just look over this list and then put in a comment what your favorites are. I’ll count up which ones were picked the most and they will go to the next round.

  1. There are too many amazing ones 😭 Top eight that I cannot narrow any further:
    Dil se re
    Ae Aajnabi
    Aankhon Main Tere
    Haule haule
    Sajda
    Tere Naina
    Janam janam
    Mere naam tu

  2. Okay this is a lot harder. So many good ones and so many you didn’t list.

    Aankhon Mein Teri
Tere Liye (makes me cry every damn time)
    Suraj Hua Madham
    Janam Janam
    Saans
    Mere Naam Tu
    Kal Ho Na Ho

    Write ins:
    Main Yahaan Hoon
    Gerua
    Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai
    Dheere Jalna
    Hawayein
Yeh Hum Aa Gaye Hain Kahan (They did this song dirty in the movie. It’s so so good.)

I’m sorry they’re all my favorites I can’t narrow it down any more.

  3. Okay, my favorites and “the Best” aren’t really the same.
I mean Dil Se Re is like a orgasm set to music, but it is uncomfortable to watch, so it isn’t my FAVORITE, but it might be the BEST. But if we are doing favorites:

    Jaata Hai Tu Kahan
    Yeh Ladka Hai Allah
    Janum Janum
    Yadaan Mein

  4. Oh man, this is also so tough! I tried to get it down to 5 but I don’t have it in my heart to cut any of these songs.

“Tu Jo Dekha To Jaane Sanam”

    “Zaalima”

    “Saans”

    “Tere Naina”

    “Haule Haule”

    “Aankhon Mein Teri”

    “Mitwa”

    “Suraj Hua Madham”

    “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”

Plus my write ins are Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai, Tumhi Dekho Naa, Jiya Jale and Hawayein!

Also I listened to Do Pal again for the first time in forever and actually liked it quite a bit. I’m not really a fan of Veer-Zaara but do you think it’s worth giving it a second chance?

      • I mean that’s why I asked you because I remember that you aren’t really a fan of Veer Zaara either. I last saw it about 5 yrs ago so I was wondering if it was a movie that could possibly grow on you over time.

Tbh, I think I’m one of the only ones on DCIB who’s a KANK fan 🙂

        • I liked Veer Zara and KANK. In BTS, SRK was concerned about KANK; he did not like the subject matter. I think his superb acting in KANK showcases his incredible talent. For someone who did not care for his role, he pulled it off superbly. As regards infidelity, it happens. And KJo took a risk with the film. Turned out to be a hit, esp in US.

          • Hmm, I didn’t know that Shahrukh didn’t really like the infidelity in KANK either. I know that Kajol dropped out because of the infidelity and even Rani said that she didn’t really understand her character either. It’s interesting that these stars were were able to give such performances even with lack of belief in the subject. And also how much they trusted Karan Johar’s talent and conviction that this movie would work out.

          • It comes up in his interviews with Anupama for King of Bollywood. I think it wasn’t a moral concern or personal discomfort (although he was uncomfortable), but specifically he thought the film wouldn’t work and the audience wouldn’t sympathize if the couple actually had sex. But Karan was sure it was the only thing that made sense so SRK went along with it.

I find it interesting to think about in terms of if SRK meant “the audience won’t like it” or “this film doesn’t make sense”. Because it kind of DOESN’T make sense, this very real story of infidelity with songs and things all around it.

          • Oh gotcha, that makes more sense if he was just opposed to them having sex. Idk, I always felt that it did make sense because it was one of the big hang ups in Rani and Abhishek’s marriage.

      • I ended up listening to Veer-Zaara’s soundtrack on the way to work today and the only songs that I liked were Do Pal and Main Yahaan Hoon. There’s way too many songs in the album so I doubt that I’ll like the movie more in a rewatch.
