HAPPY AAMIR DAY!!!! Part 3, the Final Reasons I love you!!!

Boy, I thought I would have a hard time with this, because 51 is so many, but it is actually surprisingly easy!  The man really is lovable.

41.  Because you were the first Khan to slow down and only do a one or two movies a year, which made it acceptable for the others to slow down too.

42.  Because you handled your divorce and re-marriage in a super classy and private manner.

43.  Because you handled Azad’s birth in a similarly private way.

44.  Because you instead of hosting yet another reality TV Show like every other movie star, you made Satyamev Jayate.

45.  Because you made Talaash and Dhobi Ghat, when you knew they wouldn’t do well, just because you found them interesting and worth making.

46. Because when you were making Lagaan and they needed a big spontaneous crowd reaction shot for the end of the cricket match, you weren’t too proud to do this:

47.  Because you aren’t afraid to be in a multi-starer with less famous actors if it is a good script.  And you are so talented that you outshine them anyway, no matter how much you try not to.

47. Because you made me believe you were 18 again.

48.  Because you made Talaash, a movie that was never going to be a hit, with two strong female stars, and a female director and writer, and you still gave it your all.

49. Because you made Dhoom 3, a big stupid fun action movie, showing you can still laugh at yourself.  And do insane stunts.

50.  Because you took part in this silly fun ridiculous tribute to the movies.

51.  And finally, because you have always been adorable onscreen, right from the beginning.

  1. Very heartbreaking bit of Satyamev Jayate related trivia here: around his birthday last year, a rape survivor by the name of Suzette Jordan, who was present in an episode of SJ, passed away from meningoencephalitis (he remembers all the people he interviewed and often is on friendly terms with them later on, a friend of mine who was a guest on the show told me) He put up a v heartfelt status update on FB about her, but most of his fans were to busy saying ‘happy birthday’ to even read what he wrote. I was kinda angry because Aamir is literally telling you how much this woman had gone through and how brave she was, and people think it’s appropriate to say happy birthday rather than actually read what he’s written? Sigh.

    • Oh, that’s too bad! I think I saw that one of the guests in the honor killing episode died also, killed when he went back to visit his village? Although that must have gotten at least a little more coverage, if I ran across it.

I really respect what he does with Satyamev Jayate, but I never want to watch an episode. Way way too much for me to handle.
