This is a very loose “series”, it’s just to make my life easier so I will be slotting them in as needed on no particular schedule, both reruns and new reviews.
Sunshine, long bright days, general joy-obviously this all makes me think of Shahrukh!
Reviews usually take 6 hours, 3 hours watching and 3 hours writing. With a Shahrukh movie, that’s cut in half because I don’t have to watch anything new, I’ve already seen all the movies. And also, I am happy while reviewing them! Because Shahrukh makes me happy.
No particular schedule for this series, the whole point is loosey-goosey summer freedom. Whenever I have a gap in a day, I will throw in an Shahrukh review, rerun or original, as a fun relaxed summer treat for us all.
And yes, this all makes the blog seem even more like a Shahrukh fan site, but is that a bad thing? It is run by a Shahrukh fan, and largely visited by Shahrukh fans, why not own the identity?
And to help us all get into a relaxed happy summer mood, which does not care about schedules and planning, I give you “Kal Ho Na Ho”:
When I think “21st century Hindi film music” , the first song that comes to mind is KHNH, replete with white linen hoodie outfit and his athletic kick-butt even-in-slow-mo jogging style. 😉
Looking forward to your summer of srk reviews. And non-SRK reviews, too 🙂

Thanks! I am too! I have had an incredibly productive past two days in the non-blog world (bought healthy food! installed the air conditioner! Did laundry!) and I am hoping the SRK summer will let me keep up the pace of non-blogging activity.

Ah yes, that pesky thing called Real Life that always gets in the way of online escapism!
Glad you are taking care of your offline life first and foremost.
As the in-flight warning says, place the mask on yourself first, then assist your child. 🙂

I bought myself a footbath (a bucket shaped for feet) and it is AMAZING! Both because I can soak my poor feet, and because I can’t do anything but sit and read or watch TV while I am doing it, even the laptop is too tricky to balance.

Oooooooh! Right up my ally! As a serious Shah Rukh fan like you, may I request that you spend some time on the less-popular movies he did in the early years, say like Chaahat, or Trimurti? You know, the ones most people agree were just awful. I also wouldn’t mind revisiting some of those types of films you’ve already reviewed to see what discussions we can have. (Reading your review and the comments for Oh Darling Yeh Hai India made me appreciate it in a way I just couldn’t on a first watch!) Oh, it’s going to be a fun summer!!

It is going to be a fun summer! I think I am more excited about this than anything else for my summer plans.
