Saturday/Sunday WatchAlong: Chori Chori for FilmiKudhi? Or Literally ANYTHING Else?

You know that human thing where the more someone says “you absolutely MUST watch this” the less you want to watch it? Tragically, after 5 years of FilmiKudhi demanding I watch Chori Chori, I would now rather rip my fingernails out by the roots than give in. See also, Genevieve’s epic struggle to get me to watch the new Emma (which I did eventually watch, and love, but it was a battle of wills). Anyway, this weekend we can watch Chori Chori for FilmiKudhi, or I can continue to be an immature brat and we can watch anything else!

Chori Chori

Really, the only thing wrong with this movie is that it’s on einthusan.tv. It’s an early 2000s Rani-Ajay rom-com based on the Steve Martin movie Housesitter, it is apparently lightweight and feel good and I would have watched it decades ago if it was easier to find. But it is not easy to find, it is on einthusan only. And youtube without subs.

Anything Else

It’s Sush’s birthday week! We could watch Main Hoon Na again! It’s also ARK’s birthday week, we could watch Malang! Which is also Christmassy! Or for Thanksgiving and America, Kal Ho Na Ho? An Affair to Remember? Or Mann? Or we all sign up for a trial of the Criterion Streaming and watch All That Heaven Allows?

  1. Hey! As long as I can play my (or Mr. Toddles’) birthday card and watch it in the next month or I am open to watching something else this weekend. 😁

I do feel like I need to get it in before December because December starts Genevieve’s kids’ birthdays and then she gets to pick!

  4. I am 50 / 50 on attendance due to unkown family health and travel plans. BUT my vote is for Chori Chori, even though that means I will have to watch it on a computer screen.

I tried to watch the first Tiger movie yesterday with the 8 year old and the subtitles were all screwed up on Prime and it DROVE ME CRAZY. So now I say subtitles over screen size!

And just so people know, I got Margaret to watch Emma by buying her the movie! Well not really, I got her a $15 gift certificate to Amazon so that she could buy the movie. A $15 guilt card gnawing at her conscience until she did what I wanted. Now that I look at it, I’m realizing that maybe it wasn’t the nice gesture I thought it was at the time. Sorry Margaret, but you did like Emma right?
