Thank you Naina for alerting me! Lovely thing to wake up to. And just lovely thing in general, I really really like this song video and I hope it is more of a thesis statement for the film than we have gotten before.
First time I’ve seen this, there is a big disclaimer along the bottom saying this is NOT the version that will be in the film. It’s normal to have promo versions versus film versions, but it’s kind of weird to put the disclaimer in! So either they knew everyone would fall in love with this promo and be waiting for it in the movie, or the version in the movie is going to be so distinctly different they knew people would be confused.
My first thought is, this is the exact same song as in Gadar! Which isn’t a bad thing, it’s my favorite song in Gadar and it’s a lovely concept, starting a journey and mentally playing it out and continuing it in a fantasy song. Specifically, a dangerous cross-border trip taken for love, in both films.
My second thought is, “I hope this is the inner essence of Shahrukh’s character”. I don’t mind if he plays comic and silly, but I hope the film lets the center of him be loving and noble and protective and just Grown Up.
Oh, and I also hope the film doesn’t shy away from just how dangerous and horrible these kinds of journeys can be, AND the pure desperation that causes people to start them.

It’s smack in the middle of family Christmas time for me, so I have to face the possibility I may not be able to watch it until the next day. Or, even worse, UNTIL THE 27TH!!! When I am home.

I saw the promo only now and I’m loving it. I’m glad they made a special version, because Shahrukh looks so good here. 100% Shahrukh’y, romantic and super hot. True King. Who knows maybe in the movie his face will be rejuvenated during the song, and it won’t be the same. Or the song will be cropped (it’s so beautiful and it would be a loss)
I’m still not convinced about Tapsee. Maybe it’s because I don’t like her much this days, but she is a good actress so maybe she will win me over.
