DCIB Book/Movie Club: Sangam! Watch it, and then Discuss it On Saturday Feb 17!

Bhansali inspired me! Sangam is SUCH a good movie, and there is so much to consider in it, I think it is a perfect one for us all to talk about.

I’m definitely gonna put up a discussion post like usual, but I am ready to also try a live discussion! If you are interested, email me and also give me your time restrictions (I picked Saturday on purpose so we can do early morning, late evening, whenever Chicago time).

Sangam is only on einthusan, bleh. Or on DVD if you can find it (might be at your local library actually). You’ve got time to figure it out! That’s the good news. And we can all watch it on our own time in our own place however works best.

  1. I’d love to watch Sangam! I am in the mood for a romantic movie from the sixties, and this will be my first movie with Vyjayanthimala! Unfortunately, the 17th is part of Mr. Malhotra’s and my romantic getaway weekend, so I won’t be able to meet with you all. But I will contribute to the discussion post! And I hope I can get a chance to participate live again.

  2. I love the idea of a live discussion. I think it’s a great way to get to know each other also and have human interaction.

And I will do my best to participate in this one. But what are your thoughts of doing a group watchalong/ comment session followed by a live discussion?

The watchalong gets people to watch the movie together and comment as we go along and also gets us all energized. And then we can get together live for a short period of time to chat and discuss final thoughts and feelings. It’s a way to combine both comments and live. Also, this way, if people can just do one and not the other, there are options.

  4. Our plans for that day are starting to settle and it looks like I’d be able to join the discussion if it starts between 10 am and 2 pm Chicago time.

  5. I’m going to watch it so I can participate in the discussion. But I’ve been wary of watching Sangam because I know how the love triangle resolves, it seems similar to Andaz and I hated that resolution. Let’s see!
