So, I just got Salman’s new biography (released in honor of his 50th birthday!) from India. I am SO EXCITED. I should have it all read and be ready to report back on the most exciting tidbits sometime next week.
But in the meantime, here is a quick preview.
Chapter headings my reactions in italics
- Salman Khan: What Makes Him the ‘Bad Boy’ of Bollywood? great opening! This is exactly what I want to know!
- The Story Marked in a Diary wha? maybe I skip this chapter
- The Tribal Connections of Salman What they heck are they talking about? Tribal like adivasi, or tribal like film clans?
- Fauji No. 1: Salman’s Great-great-grandfather Abdul Majid Khan great-great grandfather? are we just going to go through his whole family now?
- Fauji No. 2: Salman’s Great-grandfather Abdul Majid Khan yes, we are going to go through his whole family
- The Era of Salman’s grandfather oh my gosh, this is taking forever! Just get to 1965 already!
- Salim Khan: The First Khan in Bollywood wait, all those other chapters, we weren’t even in Bombay yet?
- Indore: A Walk down Memory Lane get on with it! Why are we in Indore!?!? Salman should be born by now!
- The Second Khan in Bollywood yes! Finally!
- Meine Pyar Kyun Kiya? (Oh, Why Did I Fall in Love!) I have no idea what this chapter is about and I am so excited
- Two Girlfriends again, no idea! There are so many possibilities! Can. Not. Wait.
- Why Is Salman the Way He Is? One of the mysteries of the universe! And really should just be the title for this book, everyone would buy it!
- Is Salman Guilty? Another great title! I mean, I’m assuming the answer is going to be “no” since this is an authorized bio, but wouldn’t it be exciting if it was “yes”?
- The Sultan of Bollywood okay, boring again. Totally reached the ending part where it is all about how wonderful his life is now so we get the effect of a happy ending
- ‘I Reside in Hearts, Not in Thoughts…” I think I’ve heard this quote from him before. It is nice, isn’t it? And a great answer any time anyone asks him anything about anything, really. “When are you getting married?” “Is India intolerant?” “Why did ‘Hero’ flop?” “Why are you celebrating your birthday by releasing a biography?” See, anything!
