If you want to just totally trust my judgement more than your own, here is how you should vote! Or dispute my choices in the comments. Either way, my votes are below.
Best Soundtrack:
Yes, I could have blindly voted for Dilwale, which had a pretty good soundtrack and would be a vote for Shahrukh. Or for Bajrangi, which I actually think is a really good movie and also has a good soundtrack. But, I went for Dil Dhadakna Do, because it is my favorite soundtrack of the year and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are my all-time favorite composers.
Best Male Playback Singer:
I was torn here! TORN!!! I wanted to give it to Kumar Sanu for “Tu”, because it is so pretty, and no other singer could have sung it like that. But on the other hand, this;
So, I had to give it to Salman.
Best Playback Singer Female:
Well, this is very very hard! Because I don’t actually like any of these options is. My test is, if I read the title of the song and try to listen to it in my head, can I hear the voice of the singer, or is it all just sort of a neutral blur. And the only one that even came close to passing that test was Shalmali Kholgade. Which means Bombay Velvet. Which I HATE! But I do actually like the sound of this one song.
Best Lyrics:
Hmm, a tricky one. I can actually appreciate the beauty of Hindi lyrics, but only if I listen really really closely. Which I didn’t bother with for a lot of these songs, and I don’t really feel about going back and listening to them again just to answer this post. So, I am going to vote for “Gerua”! Guilt free! Because they are legitimately beautiful lyrics, and he dug up a word that is so obscure a lot of people didn’t even know what it meant as the title! Plus, I like Amitabh Bhattacharya! And not just because of his first name! It’s because he’s both a lyricist and a singer, and he sang “Tere Raaste Chhodun Na” from Chennai Express, which is really pretty.

(Pretty!)
Best song:
Okay, now I can vote for “Tu” and Kumar Sanu! As a song, as a whole song, lyrics, melody, and singer, it is just on a whole other level.
Best Music Video:
Can I justify voting for Salman again? Can I justify not voting for Salman again? Oh oh! Singh and Kaur! It wins just for the lion.
Best Choreographed Song:
Okay, I was briefly torn, but then I got halfway through the list and saw “Gallan Goodiyan”. There’s just no contest. Filmed with only a few cuts, the camera moving up and down stairs, back and forth around the dance floor, and following multiple lead dancers, at the same time it matches multiple playback singers to multiple pretend “lead singers.” That is some mad fancy choreography! And, it’s not just a technical achievement, it’s crazy fun!
I didn’t know Salman has such a nice singing voice. I haven’t seen any of the movies where he is the playback singer.

It surprised me too! I had heard the soundtrack on saavn before I knew he sang this song, and it just sounded like any professional playback singer. But once I learned it was him, I could recognize his voice in it. Apparently, he also paints? Not exactly the hobbies you would expect from tough guy Salman!
