Karan tweeted the first Kapoor and Sons poster today!  That seems so fast!  I can still remember when it was just a rumored production!  I think I must be getting old, I remember back in the day when Happy New Year was announced it felt like For. Ever. before the first look came out.  Oh wait!  That was just a couple years ago!  Yeah, I’m not getting old, this movie turned around in production super fast!  Well, fast for a high profile big budget release.

Without further ado, the First Look!!!!!

Karan tweeted it this morning (or whatever time it was in India, time zones confuse me).  And yesterday (or the day before yesterday?) he had already tweeted Rishi’s look from the film.

Now, I find the Rishi picture a little disturbing.  They actually did a really great job, he looks like a sweet little old man.  But he doesn’t look like Rishi!  Why would you cast Rishi and not let him look like Rishi?

But what really bugs me is Fawad in the First Look poster from today.  I was taken by surprise by Fawad in Khoobsurat.  That wasn’t clear, I was taken pleasantly by surprise by Fawad in Khoobsurat.  I did not think this would happen, but I am going to bring up Pakeezah for the third time in two days.  Fawad reminded me of Raajkumar in Pakeezah.  In that, he was able to stand back and let the heroine take the lead, without ever making you feel like he was less of a character and less of a person than her.  It’s a tricky balance for an actor to hit!  So I was excited to see him in this, and I am hopeful that it will be more Alia’s film so he gets to show his ability in standing back and being handsome and supportive again.

But his face, whaaaaaaa?  Somehow in this poster, he looks like Randeep Hooda, who’s stupid face I hate!  (I know that is irrational and he is a very handsome man, but somehow it just drives me crazy!  Ever since Once Upon a Time in Bombay).

I mean look at this guy,

Then look at the First Look poster again,

Doesn’t he look more like guy number 2 than guy number 1?  WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BEARDED HOTNESS?!?!?!?
