FanVid Post: I’m Trying to be Up to Date and Move on to New Fandoms!

I know, I’ve been stuck on SRKajol and Ranishek and all these couples from the early 2000s!  So I am going to try to find some of the new fandoms that those kids today are into.

Ranveer and Dips really are charming together, it’s true.

This one is so cutting edge, it hasn’t even happened yet!  And yet, there are still many many Dips and Siddharth fanvids.  Huh.

This is billed as a Siddharth and Alia video, but it’s really more of a Siddharth one, I mean, the song is “Hero No. 1”

This song is so pretty! But what is going on at that photo shoot at the end?  Are they supposed to be at a carnival or something?

Okay, this one is cool.  And look at that, I am branching out of film stars to cricketers!

And then Anushka lead me to this whole gaggle of new girls all in one video.

Okay, I’m calling this “new” because it’s all recent footage.  And I know it was just from the promotional tour for Dilwale, so they were really trying to sell the “epic love story” part of it, but come on!  It’s Kajol and Shahrukh!  They are an epic love story!

Okay, this isn’t “new” by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s fun, right?

Look how cool I am!  A Fanvid for those new Pakistani soaps everyone is watching!  Also, is that Mahira Khan from Raees that is in Humsafar with him?  Is that worth my watching before Raees comes out?

Okay, this is an old fandom and an old video, and even a kind of old song, but I don’t care!  It is just such a perfect combination of subject and song!

And finally, this just makes me irrationally happy

  1. I’m watching Humsafar this weekend…it’s now on Netflix. I think it’s definitely worth watching. Mahira Khan’s character in Raees looks drastically different. I’ve never watched a desi tv series and this one fascinates me (not least of all because it made me learn about cousin marriage in Islam). It’s compelling but also very much could be condensed into a 3 hour film and not lose anything.

    • I’ve had Humsafar recommended to me by moviemavengal too.

With the cousin-marriage, I’ve been learning from my recent dive into Malayalam and Tamil and Telugu movies, that it is common for the daughter of a sister to marry the son of a brother. Which I guess kind of makes sense, as it keeps some inheritance and traditions within the family.
