Hey, my office is closing for Memorial Day! That’s AWESOME!!!! I’m hosting my church quilting group and I really need an extra day to make the apartment opinionated-older-women clean. And also, it means we could do a twitter watchalong if we wanted! That is, if anyone is interested.
The important thing is making sure enough people are interested and available. And then I can figure out the timing based on my spookily exact knowledge of all of your various time zones.
And then the second most important thing is picking a movie. From experience, the key is to find a movie that is amusing, but not subtle. So we will enjoy watching it and have lots to say, but also be able to tear ourselves from the screen long enough to type up a comment.
So, if you are interested, leave a comment with your choice between these 3 movies:
Balu Mahi: I haven’t seen it, but it is on Netflix and I have heard it is AMAZING in a very “I can’t believe that just happened!” silly sort of way that will be nice for group watching.
Race: With the triquel coming out, good chance to revisit the original! And admire the terrible costumes, ridiculous plot, hot Saif, and amusing Akshaye.
Dil: Writing about it recently reminded me how very amusing it is, in that particular way that becomes more amusing if we watch it together.
And I am open to suggestions! This is very last minute and these are just the first 3 that popped into my head. Mostly I just need to know who is interested/available for a twitter watchalong on Monday the 28th/Sunday the 27th.
Me! Me! I am available Sunday after 2 pm Washington DC time (EDT) And Monday before noon or after 5 pm.

I can’t lie, I’m intrigued by Balu Mahi 🙂
But I must suggest Prem Aggan too because it’s too funny (and it’s on youtube without subs and on einthusian with subs)

My sister is telling me I can’t watch Balu Mahi, because she can’t join in next week and she really really wants to watch it with me.
So maybe Prem Aggan! Would you be able to join us if we watched it? Or if we watched something else?

I would love to, but it depends on the time.I just checked that Chicago is -7 hours from Italy. So it can be hard, but if the movie will start not too late, I can join 😀

That’s why I wanted a day when I would be off from work, midday really works better for most of the world versus Chicago evening.
Well, we will see who else is interested and what time I can work out.

I’m in! I vote for Dil or Race but I’m easy and will watch whatever if it’s a group watch. Your Raja Hindustani tweetfest happened just two weeks before I saw it for the first time, argh.
Meanwhile, I’m watching this song right now and holy smokes Akshay.

Oh yeah. That was back when he and Raveena were dating. And he and Shilpa. And he and Karisma (I think). Akshay was a busy boy, lots of irons in the fire.

Wow! as someone who grew up in the 90s, this was the most passionate/hottest song for us teens of that era

My time zone is 14.5 hours ahead of Chicago time so your Sunday morning or evening would be ok (same times on Monday too)

Okay, I will try to line up with all the other restrictions. I do like it when we can have a fully international crowd 🙂

I think this will probably not work for me this time until you do it early in the morning, which I would not blame you if you didn’t want to. In addition to this, none of these movies is available to me. But I will look forward to next time! Spare a thought for me laboring away on American Labor Day.

Poor you! Well, I’ll figure out a time that works for the majority and hopefully we can manage to get you in too.

I really appreciate how you make time for me! This time, as I say, I may not be able to get the movies, so don’t inconvenience anyone on my account.

I can’t fully commit to this, but will keep checking in and try to tune in, regardless of movie choice! Hope it works out!

Sounds good! I’ll figure out time zones sometime today and put up the official times, since it looks like there are at least a couple other people who can make it.
