Yes, it’s another game! I am just so tired. The last marathon week before leaving town is exhausting. And I am guessing many of you are in a similar state. So, let’s put our brains to work on brainless things!
5 ingredients to make a male movie star in Hindi film,
Looks
Charm
Acting
Business/industry savvy
Dancing
And their subsections, first Looks:
- Sexiness
- Height
- Regular features
Charm:
- Wit
- Chemistry
- Flirtation
Acting:
- Intensity
- Realism
- Entertainment
Business/Industry
- Nepotism connections
- Savvy building of new creative partnerships
- Ability to pick a good popular profitable script/project
Dance:
- Technical training
- Natural ability
- Willingness to do the work and not feel foolish
Now, for your perfect movie star, rank the importance of each 1 through 3, with 3 being “absolute must have”, 2 being “eh, a nice bonus” and 3 being “I honestly don’t care”. So the section with the highest total score is the one that is most important to you.
For myself, Looks:
- Sexiness-3
- Height-1
- Regular features-1
For myself, Charm:
- Wit-3
- Chemistry-2
- Flirtation-2
For myself, Acting:
- Intensity-2
- Realism-1
- Entertainment-3
For myself, Business/Industry savvy:
- Nepotism connections-1
- Savvy building of new creative partnerships-2
- Ability to pick a good popular profitable script/project-3
For myself, Dance:
- Technical training-1
- Natural ability-2
- Willingness to do the work and not feel foolish-3
If your top two were Looks and Dance and your bottom one was acting, than this is your hero!

If your top two were Acting and Looks and dance was the bottom, than this is your guy!

If Charm was one of your top requirements, no matter what the others were, this is your star. So charming you will forgive him for being ugly, bad at dancing, making poor business decisions, and sometimes overacting:

If Acting and industry smarts were your highest section and looks lowest, than this is your guy

If Business/Industry savvy and dance were tops for you, than this is your guy!
Okay, now you can all yell at me and tell me I scored it all wrong and came up with wrong answers! And also missed possible combinations and so on.
Whatever, it’s Christmas week, sometimes you just want to do a brainless quiz.
I had : acting, charm and dancing so Shah Rukh is my man

Indeed! Partly because I can’t think of anyone who combines acting and dance. Why are those two talents almost never complimentary?

Shahid Kapoor can act and dance but he has like 0 charm for me now.
NTR Jr has all 3 things.
Oh and I think Rajkummar Rao is not bad at dancing either.

I saw an old interview with him where he talked about getting dance training, and he was decent in the little bits we saw in Stree and Bareilly. I just wish they would give him a full fledged number so we could really judge.
I suppose there’s also Sushant, he can definitely dance, but I find his charm a bit uneven and also his acting.

First time I noticed Rajkummar dances well was in Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. Watch and tell me if he really dances well or I think so because I love this song :

The two top male trailers right now, Ranbir & Ranveer, can both act and dance.

Oh right! They just aren’t that charming so i keep forgetting about them

Talent not trailers

They aren’t charming? Seriously? Ranveer is practically on a charm offensive most of the time, and ranbir gives good interviews.

No, not charming. Entertaining, sure. But for wittiness and making me laugh and giving me the feeling that I could enjoy a dinner party with them, bleh. Ranbir gives good interviews, but I usually find him more sort of intellectual and emotional than charming.

How about Ayushmann as the all-rounder?
Looks:
Sexiness yes but in a boy next door way
Height not sure he seems short
Regular features yes, and radiant features to boot
Charm:
Wit sometimes
Chemistry yes
Flirtation yes
Acting:
Intensity sometimes
Realism yes
Entertainment yes
Business/Industry
Nepotism connections no
Savvy building of new creative partnerships yes
Ability to pick a good popular profitable script/project yes
Dance:
Technical training I dunno
Natural ability yes
Willingness to do the work and not feel foolish, not sure if this has been tested
I would add Backstory/character
Self made man? Yes
Prior work experience before entering industry? Yes
Loyal bf/hubby? Yes like srk married sweetheart before entering industry.
I know you said he flopped on his KWK interview. But I’ve enjoyed his interviews over the past ten years. He’s open honest forthright and smiling with the interviewer. I always feel I learn a little bit more about him each time. He’s got that personal touch that would make him a good talk show host someday if he ever wanted to go that route.

I like Ayushmann as the all-rounder! And I think particularly in recent years there has been an OVER focus on the looks and business connections, versus charm and acting. Ayushmann bucks that trend, will never be male model handsome but has good decent boy next door appeal, and has no business connections. The anti-Hrithik, essentially.
I’ve found him charming in the past as well, which is part of why the Koffee interview was so disappointing. I don’t know why he wasn’t opening up, and I hope it wasn’t because he has decided not to be so personal any more. And he is definitely charming onscreen, his romances are all about making you (and the heroine) like him and want to spend time with him, not so much the emotional intensity.

I know other actor who is all acting, dancing and charm – Dhanush! He is one of the best actors and dancers, and even without classical handsome look, he has so much charm that I can take my eyes of him.
LikeLike
Yes! And thus, I also really like Dhanush. And Rajinikanth, I feel like Rajini has more charm while Kamaal has more acting.
LikeLike
Oh yes, charming is the last word when I think about Kamaal.
