A Challenge Post! How Many of These Questions Can You Answer?

More holiday fun!  This is if you need a brainteaser to occupy you for hours and hours, or perhaps to share with the rest of the family and let them struggle along too.

Challenge 1:

Name as many actors (male or female) named “Khan” as you can

Name as many actors (male or female) named “Kapoor” as you can

Bonus: Before you start, guess as to whether you think there will be more Kapoors or more Khans.

Challenge 2:

Name 2 (or more) actors (only male, not actresses) from Telugu cinema who are NOT related to any other actors.

Name 2 (or more) actors (only male, not actresses) from Tamil cinema who are NOT involved in politics or related to someone involved in politics

Challenge 3:

Name 3 actresses from Malayalam cinema who have never played village girls

Name 3 actresses from Telugu cinema who launched at age 25 or older

Name 3 actresses from Hindi cinema who were never rumored to have dated any married men

Challenge 4:

Name 5 actors who played Devdas

Name 5 actresses who played unwed mothers

Challenge 5:

Name 5 famous songs that were recently remixed

Name 5 famous movies that were recently remade

Bonus Challenge:

What challenge would you add?  What challenge would you drop as too hard?  And what challenge would you drop as too easy?

(oh, and I’m not giving my own answers, first because I don’t want you to be able to cheat by looking at mine, but also because I’m honestly not sure I could do it!)

Feel free to play along in the comments, we can use an honor system to believe you aren’t stealing answers.  Or just print it out and bring it up at your next family or fandom gathering!

  2. Challenge 2:
Current (only Hero/Protagonists): Ravi Teja, Nani, Sharwanand, Vijay Devarakonda, Srinivas Avasarala (Ashta Chemma)
    Old: Srikanth, Rajendra Prasad
The following heroes did not have any related when they entered movies, however their clan are in movies now – NTR, ANR, Krishna, Chiranjeevi, Krishnam Raju

  3. Challenge 3b – Name 3 actresses from Telugu cinema who launched at age 25 or older
Seems to be very tough – not one name on top of my mind – may have to research. Shruti Hassan could be close – checked online, she debuted at 23

    • Thanks 🙂 All comments from top of my mind – no research – could try answer for most Hindi movies 1980-2010 – not liking the recent ones; can answer for all Telugu and most Tamil movies 🙂

  4. Challenge 3a-Aishwarya Lakshmi,Amala Paul(no village girl role in Malayalam movies),Nazriya Nazim,Nithya Menen-in general, post 2000s heroines, cos these days none of the girls are truly village girls. They would be small town girls.

      • Ha! Of course she was. Nithya was a Tamil village girl in the Vijay movie too. But not in any Malayalam films.
Oh another challenge -popular Malayali actresses who haven’t worked in other languages.I can only think of Manju Warrier.

        • Shoot, I was thinking that would be an easy challenge and then I remembered how much cross-over there is Malayalam to Tamil. Rima Kallingal maybe?

    • #1 – Those acted in Telugu – Amitabh (new Chiranjeevi’s movie to be released), Shahrukh (Hey Ram), Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor (his first movie as lead was in Telugu Vamsa Vriksham, followed by Mani Ratnam’s direcotrial debut Pallavi Anupallavi in Kannada),
#2 – Current gen – Guessing Kriti Sanan, Tapsee, Aditi Rao Hyderi
      #3 – Shahrukh-Deepika, Amitabh-Jia in Nishabd, Amitabh-Tabu in Cheeni Kum?
#4 – For Hindi, those I know – Guide, Devdas, Khamoshi
#5 – Akshay in Dil To Pagal hai, Salman in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Madhavan in 3 Idiots, Shashi Kapoor in some 70s Amitabh movies

      • Oh, I forgot evergreen Dev 🙂
        ROJT – Dev was 73, Anu 27 – A gap of 46!
Nishabd – AB was 64 while Jiah Khan was 18/19 – so 45-46 close!

But, I would give a mind blowing trivia (if not already known) –
Sridevi at 9, acted as grand-daughter to NTR at 49 in a 1972 movie. Then 7 years later, she at 16, he at 56 danced to a sensuous rain song in a 1979 movie –
