Why not, right? It is the new year, after all. It’s not a great movie, but it can be a fun movie, and I haven’t reviewed it yet.
Available on youtube and Netflix. Now, I don’t want to oversell this, this is not a good movie. It’s got some great song sequences, and a few fun comedy moments. But it also has a fair number of “wait, what’s happening?” moments. Go into expecting it to be silly and masala and dumb, and you can have fun with it. Go into expecting it to be universally high quality and make sense, and you won’t.
Ha, I love this film. Great? No. Fun? YESSSS. Loads of politically incorrect jokes, 100 % celebration of bad taste.
So why do I love it?
Because it’s so honest. It’s loud and trashy and does not pretent to be anything else. It constantly laughs at it own costs.
And then there is Deepika Padukone in one of her best performances (imho – which is propbably not shared by many people 😀 ): great dancing, marvellous coming timing and some heartfelt emotions.

Yes, exactly, it has no pretense! With all the serious films we are getting lately, it’s nice to have a just plain silly one.

This is one I don’t hesitate to show newbies. And I love the musical numbers! And the female gaze!
