First, very important, you should all go over and look at this post. I put a lot of work into it, and it is super good and super fun, especially the “lust” section. Okay, moving on, let’s look at some Indian songs to represent the sin of Greed!
This is the first song that comes to mind for me, partly because I am a product of the early 2000s, but also because it is such a perfect example of celebrating “Greed”. “Sabse Bade Rupaiya”
And a new one! Well, a new one that is a remix of an old one, “Paise” from Total Dhamaal.
And then there’s the Indian version of Wall Street! Which has a great soundtrack and a great Saif Ali Khan performance and not much else going for it. But this song highlights both those things!
So far mostly greedy men, how about a greed woman? Rani and “Sava Dollar”
Okay, the first song was kind of timeless, THIS is the ultimate early 2000s song!!!! Esha, Shilpa, Zayed, all of those nice people who faded away. “Cash”
It’s funny how you associate “greed” with a desire for money. I used to think this, too, but a series of British books later (starting with Agatha Christie), led me to discover that, to the Brits at least, “greed” means gluttony, i.e., a over desire for food. I don’t know if this is just an American vs. British usage, but I think the food association is the more normal one (I can’t now give specific citations that led me to that conclusion). So when I saw the title of this post, I thought it would be a series of food based songs. Now you already did that, but what were they associated with?

Gluttony! I don’t know if it is British or American, but the official list of 7 sins includes “greed” as being about possessions and gluttony being about food.
