Kalank is really messing up my scheduling. Landing on Wednesday means all of Wednesday and Thursday will be taken up with those reviews, and the whole schedule gets weird. So I’m doing a Malayalam film on Friday instead, and then a big silly Hindi movie on Sunday.
Joseph first. Angie tells me it is a beautiful movie, so I want to check it out. It’s a bit of a hassle to find, one of those einthusan-only movies (booo!). But it has universally good reviews so we should all make the effort to see it anyway if we can.
And then Mubarakan, NOT a beautiful movie. A big silly movie. But with a great cast. Arjun Kapoor and Athiya Shetty are kind of terrible, but Illeana D’Cruz, Ratna Pathak, Pavan Malhotra, Neha Sharma, and of course Anil Kapoor are all amazing. If a plot set-up of “identical twin cousins accidentally end up engaged to each other’s girlfriends” does not intrigue you, I don’t even know what will! Oh, and it’s on Netflix.
