Snegithiye! I’m excited about this one, I haven’t seen it myself. The 4 leads are all women and it revolves around close female friendships. I am sure an against the grain Lesbian reading is possible, but since I haven’t seen it yet, I’m not sure how much the film invites or does not invite it. We can find out together. Oh, and it’s on youtube and googleplay. Review going up 6/27.

Main Khiladi Tu Anari! This movie is so great. Cynical mobsters in the film industry commentary, fun crime plot, two nice romances, Shilpa Shetty being sexy. Okay, a weird rape thing in there too, but it was the 90s, I will let it go. Mostly it is all about the Sakshay. The title means “I am the Player, You are the Naive One”, with Akshay being the Player and Saif being the Naive One, and the movie really commits to this concept. Including one moment when Saif leans close to Akshay and whispers “say please with love”. And the whole thing is available legally for free with subtitles on youtube. Review going up Sunday 6/30.
