I wanted to put this up this week, but it’s Pride week, so you get a bit extra warning. Kaatru Veliyidai, on Amazon Prime and YouTube and GooglePlay.
With my series on Salman, and Kabir Singh releasing, we’ve been talking a lot about intimate partner abuse. And I keep thinking back to this movie and the very interesting way it showed an abusive relationship. And I want all of you who have been talking about partner abuse on the other posts to watch it and give your opinions! Really, this is a selfish request more than anything, because it is such an interesting and strange film I feel like I need assistance in understanding it. For example, maybe even my interpretation of it as showing an abusive relationship is wrong? Maybe it really is supposed to be the swoony romance it appears to be and the director intended no deeper level? Watch it and help me figure this out on 7/2!
Sorry for my poor english… still i try to explain you…Hello first of all, the background kashmir drop was used as a prop to support the two leads VC and leela… VC represents the war and Leela represents peace in the kashmir valley which is an allegory… This is the exactly the movie as same as Arjun Reddy. The only difference is there are more subtexts is present in kaatru veliyidai than Arjun reddy.. I have not seen arjun reddy yet…The director might have got inspired by kaayru veliyidai…. The film strongly supports feminism…The film says that the VC brought up in house are male dominated. From his father, he too get that same short-temper. In one scene, director give audience the lead such as VC grabs her sisters hand and turn it towards her back.. Same thing he did to leela that she remembers. Sorry if i did some major mistakes. I am not that much serious like you as a movie buff

You’ve got the subtext spot on,in KV director showed us why our protagonist does what he do.In Arjun reddy we don’t get that and the director just wanted us to be awed by his hero
