Friday WatchAlong, Kabhi Kabhie! Right Here at 3pm Chicago Time!

Yaaaaay, Kabhi Kabhie! Shashi Kapoor being AWESOME, Raakhee being pretty good, everyone else being shades of terrible culminating in truly terrible Amitabh. The snark should be strong in us.

Kabhi Kabhie! Watch on Amazon Prime, or youtube, or googleplay, or DVD starting at 3pm Chicago time.

I will start the comments off at 3pm, and then you all pile on after me, right here.

  1. You know I was gonna watch this on my DVD, and then I checked the run times, and the Amazon version is 7 minutes longer. EXCITING! There will be 7 minutes of content I have never seen before!

  2. Confusing mindblowing thought, in real life Amitabh would have seen his Dad do a bunch of these kind of college poetry recitals. And, decades after this movie, he started doing them too with his Dad’s poems.

  3. This is very romantic, but in a way that makes me not want to date this guy. Like, TOO romantic. He would not be a good guy for having practical discussions about dirty laundry.

  4. Actors often seem to have very red eyes in their close up eye shots, and I personally suspect it is a reaction to all the make up.

      • Oh, but you aren’t supposed to. I have never watched the movie liking his character, and I think the film works better that way. He is the tragic failure loser, the other men who think of others and stuff are the winners.

  5. Did everyone see Shashi take Raakhee’s hand? I read it as him being a nice guy and reaching out to comfort her shaking hand with his strength. Kind of thing dumb Amit would never have thought to do.

  6. So, you are going to make her marry someone else, but also make sure she feels guilty and torn up about leaving you, and always and forever responsible for your happiness? What a peach of a guy!

  7. Blech, why would you picture Amitabh instead of Shashi? Or maybe she is thinking “huh, I don’t know if he really would have made a great husband”
