An Easter Discussion Post, Which Sexy FanFic is Better? Jesus-Judas, Jesus-Peter, or Jesus-Mary Magdelene?

You know what the New Testament is missing? Some nice romantic scenes. Maybe some love songs. Luckily, that is what fanfic is for.

Jesus-Judas

This has some nice tension here. A good love-hate vibe. Judas is the only one who will challenge Jesus, who can see him as a fallible Man and not just a leader. They have a passion that is hidden and forbidden, and ultimately toxic. But very sexy. This kind of vibe:

Jesus-Peter

Less hate-love tension here, and more love-love but sadness. Peter is young and devout and thinks their love will last forever. Jesus is older and wiser, knows that this love is limited and too beautiful for the earth. This energy:

Jesus-Mary Magdelene

To the public, he is wise and perfect. But in private, he depends on the one woman who can understand him, who is his partner in every way. This energy:

Which is your personal taste? And which, if you know the original canon, seems to fit best with the characters as established? Make your arguments!

For myself, I go with Jesus-Peter. They spent the most time together, he called Peter his “rock”, and he was heartbroken at the idea that Peter would deny him one day. There’s just a lot of love there, while Mary Magdelene wasn’t as much part of the narrative, and Judas seems more like a sort of Shylock/Fake Tiger in War figure to me, betraying him more out of jealousy because he is overlooked than out of great love. Yes, Judas and Jesus have the only canonical kiss, but Peter talks about the “Kiss of Love” later on, so I think we can interpret that he and Jesus also made out.
