Happy Saturday! I got my coffee, I’m in my PJs, I’ve fed the dog, let’s do this thing!
Satyamev Jayate 2
It’s on Prime, it’s big and dumb and fun, I can’t wait
At 7am Chicago time, I will put up an “and PLAY” comment and we will go from there1

I mean yes, everyone wants to see the body. The public demand line cracks me up.

Isn’t his body the main reason people go see his films? That and most likely the Nora Fatehi song.

I was trying to figure out why no one was getting involve to help the woman being attacked by the five men, and then I figured it was because the crowd was all male.

Question: Do you think they were trying to appeal to a certain demographic with this movie? If so which one?
LikeLike
Bait and Switch? Bait a certain kind of audience, who come and pay, while showing them a film that is the exact opposite of what they belive *shrug*

YES!!!! That is exactly where I was going with this. They are appealing to the disillusioned men but then hitting them over the head with an unexpected message!!!

My impression from the adverts/press had been pure “dumb patriotic actioner,” and you know what that tends to mean these days.

Exactly. They are attracting an audience that would be attracted to a OTT “patriotic” action film but then actually hitting them with a patriotic message that is the opposite of what they were expecting.

I only got part way through last night and then had to fall asleep. But 7 year old is home sick AGAIN today, and in truth I’m sick too, so maybe we’ll watch it from the beginning together. Except that he can’t read English and that means I’ll be having to narrate EVERYTHING to him. Eh, I’ll see if I can finish it tonight. I do like it, it is FUNNY. And it relieves my heart to see something that isn’t blatently anti-Muslim.
