Nope. Gravity, physics, biology have no meaning in this movie.

Oh! I bet that was the point of the sari! Wrapping her up in that thing every day also kept her body moving and the muscles strengthened.

And one we all saw coming! Again, like the Amitabh movie I can’t think the name of where the mom faints because she sees the guy who acts like a friend kills her husband. And throughout the movie the bad guy plays an old man who is a confidant and politician and a bad gangster.

Oh, duh! That IS “Hera Pheri”! (Unless it happens in two films, which is completely possible.)

See? They are wearing the tricolor. See? The bad guy is wearing a muddled, less pure white. I love this movie.

But Mrs. John is too, just with flip-flopped generations. Instead of condemning her kid to die due to Big Evilness, the told the Johns to kill her dad.

I love this. The people vs the corrupted powerful in the best way. The Johns get their personal grudge done, and the bad guy gets beaten by the people he hurt – the common people

Now, speaking of ’70s films, I always wished “Kaala Patthar” had this kind of ending. It’s nice that the guru made the truck work or w/e, but they had, like, two hundred people standing there at the mine entrance. Wouldn’t it have been so stirring if they had all just held onto the rope and pulled? Anyway.

YES. That would have been wonderful!

This is a gripe I’ve had for many years. Finally, a tangentially relevant opportunity in which to air it ( ;

A little of a rushed ending. Like couldn’t they have held the end for a bit longer so we get the message before the end titles come rushing in?

But it’s Masala! You slam that ending fast so people get out of the theater.

It’s Mani Ratnam. He is the opposite of Masala, even if he veers to it when it needs to be for the story
