Sunday WatchAlong: Brahmachari for Shammi? Gumrah for Sanju and Sridevi? Bigil for SRK’s Next Director?

I am all pumped for another watchalong! Hopefully I’m not flying too close to the sun, trying to do 3 in a row. And I have such good options for us too!

Brahmachari

I just watched this last week, it is a DELIGHT. Super silly, super 60s, super feminist, just all around a joy. Like Shammi himself. And also PRAN!

Gumrah

This is an insane movie in which Sanjay is Sridevi’s stalker/fan who then ends up saving her from a Thai prison and also Bob Christo has a sex scene.

Bigil

This is the movie I keep referring to as possibly similar to Jawan! Same double role old/young hero, same heroine actress, same feminist message.

  2. My weekend is crazy as well. I have two events to go to tonight, two on Saturday, and will be watching Rocky Aur Rani either Friday evening or Sunday. If I put one more thing on my calendar, my husband might stage an intervention or a strike!

      • We didn’t do one last weekend, so you are not breaking a streak!

Also, just an FYI, I am out of the country on vacation next weekend but I should be free after that! Hopefully others are free next weekend.

  5. Exciting news!!!

Made in Heaven Season 2 AND Red White and Royal Blue (the gay rom-com between the first son of the United States and the prince of England) are both coming out on August 11!!!!

I am so excited for both. I might actually be slightly more excited for RW&RB than MIH. I need a frothy, fantasy rom-com in my life like I need water!
