New Jawan Song/Trailer! Looks SO GOOD!!!!

Thank you Kirre, my alternate time zone reporter! This was such a treat to wake up to, super fun song, super good visuals, really interesting plot possibilities.

This is a super fun Shahrukh! He’s dancing like wild, he’s losing himself in the crowd, it’s very masculine and strong and fun instead of precise.

Also, I think we have some kind of Plot now! I think this is a woman’s prison? And SRK is maybe the warden?

But he has hair. Is there possibly an attack on the prison in which he loses his hair and that inspires him to start his female commando team?

I love the uncle/father vibe with the women too, absolutely not romantic. Oh, and once again, very similar to Bigil. Only in Bigil it was a smidgen of a dance and I wanted more, the female athletes dancing at a wedding with their coach.

  5. Yes! a fun watch to me, too.
Yet, together with the preview I see another plot part: He was born in the prison and raised there, too. He then studied to become a police officer and got promoted and this is the celebration….or the uniform one sees belongs to his father whom he didn’t got to know (and it’s the celebration because he entered the police academy).
The bold SRK is his father, I guess…
It’s again a song that makes fun to dance to…also with the hand-part and the steps.
I very much liked the different moods

    • oooooo, interesting! And then he gets disillusioned with the police and we get the second half of the movie when he is all Dark and Serious.

FYI, Naina just made a comment, she is gonna be in Bombay around the Jawan release and is looking for suggestions on how to meet SRK. I know you had success, if you could reply to her comment!

    • I think usually the best bet is to just hang around outside Mannat, but with JAwan releasing, maybe he will be traveling and not even home? I don’t know! Throwing it out to the group, Claudia had luck meeting him, and I know others have hooked up with fan groups that track his appearances, but I don’t know how you reach those fan groups any more now that twitter is dying.

    • Margaret is right, Naina…luck is the key and also if he is there during this time… One can try to talk to the security guys and tell them where you are from, why you are in Mumbai, why you want to meet ShahRukh…I always was very open about that…one can go to RedChillies and tell the same, one can ask if one can talk to Pooja and tell the same…one can contact the Fanclubs which are on twitter and ask there if they have an idea (that wasn’t something I did, I always tried the direct approach). You could take a gift with you and telling you want to give it personally if even just at the car when he is leaving or coming back…and it takes patience (and determination), too.
Anyways, I wish you the luck to meet him/see him in person 🙂

      • I think reaching out to fan clubs is counterproductive because they would rather they meet him than me?
Yes I do want to take a present but I don’t know what I could take that would be compelling enough. Could I just show up at red chillies? I don’t know why they would let me in??!!

        • Something handmade/homemade would stand out. I know you’ll be traveling, so I don’t know what you can bring with you. And I say, DEFINITELY write him a letter. You can give it to a guard or receptionist or someone and just believe he got it, and that will be so fulfilling.

Also, have you watched Dhanak? It’s all about faith in meeting SRK and it’s lovely.

  7. I’m just happy big dance numbers are back, and we’re not in Europe doing sexy resort pop vibes.

What are the words at the beginning? I didn’t have captions.

  8. Already so much more impressed with this music than Pathaan. Shahrukh looks like he’s having a ball, and I love how the choreo is there but is at his level, unlike the recent Salman flicks where it’s too complicated for him and it’s clear he’s struggling. I get more excited for this movie day by day.

    • It seems that ShahRukh even was so much invested that he repeated dance sequences for mouthing the words als in Tamil (haven’t watched the Telugu version yet).

  9. I loved the Pathaan songs, they’re still in my daily playlist, but this time with Zinda Banda I loved the song AND the video. I felt the Pathaan videos were trying a little too hard to be original and edgy and new. Zinda Banda is all classic in the best way possible, the choreo, the costumes, the styling, everything, and SRK has that energy and masti that makes it such a joy just to watch him dance. Also nothing feels quite as right as SRK leading an army of women (who happen to come in all colors and sizes which is fantastic so see).

  10. I am kinda in shock at how the women are absolutely non sexualized in this song. Even in the Bigil comparison there is sexuality. This song is just fun. And it looks like a good work out.
