Yes yes, Jawan has added a strong competitor to the field. But does that mean we forget Dear Zindagi? Or Raees? Or Dilwale? Or any of the other nice hot mature SRK versions?
Someone who is older, comfortable in himself and who he is, learned from the many mistakes he has made in life, capable of handling anything from a 6 year old’s birthday to a tax audit, that kind of SRK. Who, like, would teach you about really good coffee buy wouldn’t feel patronizing when he does it.
From the level of “I’d hire him to coach soccer for my kid’s team, but I wouldn’t want to get stuck in a conversation with him” to “If I were a single parent, I would absolutely agree to marry him after two meetings because he is such a perfect father figure”, how would you rank these?
Jawan SRK

Pathaan SRK

Raees SRK

Dear Zindagi SRK

Dilwale SRK

Jab Tak Hain Jaan SRK

Chak De! India SRK

For me, Best to worst:
Dilwale SRK: he’s so sweeeeeeeeeet. And a good businessman, and he cooks, and if necessary he can also beat people up and fix your car.
Chak De SRK: Yes, he’s kind of really dull. But dull in a reassuring way, the kind of dull that means he will always be early at pickup time at school and will remember to get the oil changed in the car and so on. I would be very happy living with that sort of pleasant dull person who would support me in anything I want.
Jawan SRK: I like his “I see a problem, I fix a problem” attitude. But he is lacking the emotional support componant.
Pathaan SRK: Weirdly, one of the less thrill seeking people on this list. He has good people skills, a solid group of friends (always a healthy sign), and when he’s not working, he would be happy just hanging out on a sunny beach. Still more thrill seeking than my top two SRK’s though.
Dear Zindagi SRK: I just think he is probably SUPER messed up in a way that will either keep him from ever opening up to you, or will make him open up toooooooooooooo much and suddenly he’s sobbing in your arms until 6am.
Jab Tak Hain Jaan SRK: I think DZ SRK is messed up, but I know for sure that JTHJ SRK is messed up! If you could untangle him, obviously he would be awesome. But so much work to start with!
Raees SRK: He is alllllllllllll about the thrill seeking. Even if he wasn’t a gangster, he’d, like, start playing Rugby on weekends or something. He’s not gonna be happy just sitting around binging stuff on Netflix.
Strangely, my first choice would be Dilwale, too…I want a partner – in every which way and I would get him in this Raj (Kaaliiiiii!)…a family man with gorgeous humour and empathy, working with hands and brain, a bunch of nice friends, well established in the town, outgoing, open, clear and a don’t-mess-with-me-or-my-family attitude, cooking, cleaning, doing the laundry, attractive, attentive and good in the things he does…yes, there, too… 😀
I don’t want to rank all the other because each of them has something that’s attracts me, but Pathaan, Kabir, Raees, Samar and Vikram are ‘bustlers’, they would be out of the house for times at stretch and/or doing dangerous things just for the thrill…and I don’t want this for my kids and myself…they would be gorgeous as uncles or granddads.
Jug could by my second choice…I think he can be a good partner, too…but I would feel compelled to do my psychology on him (messed-up former life) which could be good as a friend but not as his wife.

I wonder does Jab Harry Met Sejal SRK not count. Or was that an automatic win, as everyone would choose him. However among all of them I would probably choose Chak De SRK as he is so calm but so passionate about the sport that I would be obsessed. The rest are too messed up honestly (Dilwale SRK has Kajol, I can’t compete with that kind of chemistry)

I considered JHMS, but no, he is way too immature.

I think he is ‘mature’ though. As in he believes himself to be very mature and doing the right thing. But then he is so hot so I guess his immaturity is ok

I would always choose JHMS SRK. I was surprised he wasn’t on the list. 🙂

Dilwale (Tops my List. I just love him in this role. He loved from first meeting Meera to the end. Also have watched multiple times)
Jawan (Vikram & Depika)
Pathaan (just love him in this role; have watched Pathaan many times. In withdrawl from Jawan when I got back to “no Indian movies Coastal, NC.” Got my fix with Pathaan)
Chak De (Great at building a team, just took a while)
Jab Tak Hai Jaan (with Anushka; not a fan of Katrina)
Dear Zindagi (love the role and great lines, but no, he was a loner)
Raees (the role is self destructive)

Dilwale followed by Pathan (i just loved him with long hair, who cares about personality 😝) followed by Chak De SRK.
DZ SRK is probably going to be closed off and too distant!

I’m going to jump on the bandwagon and say Dilwale is my #1 Daddy/Spouse choice as well. I think the real draw is HUMOR. Dilwale SRK loves, he works, he is no longer into gangs but obviously can rumble if he has to… all this is good, but what makes you want to hange out with him is his sense of humor. Chak De has no sense of humor, he rarely smiles. He might be a good man, but a hanging out at home would be a drag.
And because of the humor Raees would be my #2 Daddy/Spouse SRK. Sure he is doing illegal stuff, but he is doing it to help the community. And he smiles. Bummer about the whole getting killed by the police though.
I haven’t seen Jawan yet, because I haven’t had the opportunity to drive at least 4 hours to see a film. So I’m just going to lump all the rest together except for Dear Zindagi. Dear Zindagi is the absolute worst Daddy/Spouse SRK. He has a kid and isn’t raising him. Sure he might listen you to and be funny and artistic and cute, but when it comes to actually doing the work he failed.

My ranking would be JHMS SRK–he’s not on the list but I think he’s “Daddy” material. Raees, Pathaan, and Dear Zindagi SRK would all be too complicated, for different reasons, so they don’t make the cut. JTHJ SRK is also too complicated but I can’t resist him, so he’s second. Then Dilwale, then Chak De. Chak De SRK has to have a sense of humor somewhere, right?

Is there a scene of SRK laughing in Chak De at all?

I think sometimes he has a bitter smile at the difficulties of life? And if you could convince him there was some sort of ultimate goal to enjoyment, he would try very hard to be the Best at enjoying.

I am sure chak De Shahrukh gets enjoyment from watching other coaches make subtle stupid errors? You could sit next to him while he explains why it is funny. Alternatively, field hockey themed stand up acts?

Watched the success event. It was good. Always challenging when blend of English and Hindi spoken. But fun to see all. & the video from Nayanthara was lovely.

Finally watched it. It was good to see all the players’ comments, esp ab working with each other. Nayanthara video was lovely. Challenge for me when esp SRK speaks some English and some Hindi. And the YouTube version I saw was not the extended version…with the singers.

I gotta choose JTHJ SRK because he needs loving so badly poor baby. I CAN FIX HIM! I will marry him on the spot and we will go camping every weekend.
Then Dilwale (I could really do with a free mechanic, and he is so awesome at like, everything) and all the rest except Vikram.
Because Vikram is also my first choice, if I’m ignoring your list of qualities to rate by and being purely selfish. I don’t need any help with my tax returns or a coffee degree, my kids are all grown up or near enough, I don’t need a husband for anything. But I need him. Badly.

I’ve got to disagree, ladies, I think Dear Zindagi SRK is beyond hot in a way that I could only explain to someone else who fell in love with her therapist 😉

What do you think a blockbuster means for SRK / red chilies as the producer?

SRK loves being an actor…a successful actor especially. At this point in his career, I do not think the money is anything other than a film success measure. As regards RCE, the company is getting major and well deserved kudos for its VFX. And Gauri Khan deserves credit for the business side; SRK says she writes all the checks; although not sure how true this is anymore.

Interesting question. SRK has positioned Red Chillies to be diverse so that a hit or flop movie doesn’t affect the VFX wing and other departments. But, I think he will take the profit of this film and funnel it into the other parts of the business so that they are able to grow.
For SRK himself, personal validation, artistic freedom, all kinds of good things!
