  2. Ok I will be more objective in this one, rather than basing my terrible taste.

    1. Fan – He was shockingly good in this one to the point where I was shocked for a few hours.

    2. Swades – The water scene!

    3. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi – The way I truly believe that Anushka cannot recognise him and that he made me go past that mustache.

    4. Chak De! India – Its not just that 7 minutes scene, its his lack of emotions and expressions. The final win you can just see so much in his eyes.

    5. Jab Harry Met Sejal – I don’t like the movie that much but I understood all the love for his homeland and the loneliness he feels.

    6. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge – This seems like a simple role but Shahrukh adds layers such as the feeling of a motherless child and that his love for Simran is true and pure.

    7. Paheli – I think this could have been a better performance had the script focused on both the ghost and the human’s relationship to Rani.

    8. Dear Zindagi – A role he can play in his sleep.

    9. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna – Better performance had the script had more tidiness.

    10. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – I do not like this movie but there was nothing very special about SRK’s performance in this. He was a good father but he was just playing what was in the script. Not bad and even good but his level is different.

    11. Kal Ho Na Ho – This is the only movie which I truly believe would’ve been a much better movie without Shahrukh’s ‘guardian angel’ like character.

    • Whoa! The Controversy!

I will be shocked if anyone disagrees that Fan is his greatest performance. It is just unbelievable.

Paheli-I only included that because of the double role element. Each performance on it’s own would not impress me, but doing both in the same movie was impressive.

Dear Zindagi-See, this is why I DID include it! He is so laid back and low energy, but still makes you fascinated with the character without doing anything big.

KANK-absolutely. But there are so many scenes where he conveys so much emotion just through body language, I can’t leave it off

KKHH-I don’t know if this is a good reason or not, because it relies on my knowing things outside of the performance. It was Karan’s first movie and first script, and SRK improvised so much to make it work. It looks like he’s just playing the script, but actually he’s developing and writing his own character.

      KHNH-I DISAGREE!!!!!

      • Ok I might pull up Kuch Kuch Hota Hai if SRK is playing his own character with no guidance.

Also Kal Ho Na Ho, just would be a better movie if it was Preity doing everything on her own and falling in love with Saif on her own terms. Shahrukh’s whole tragic disease sort of overshadows the real issues this family faces.

        • adh1325, I completely am at loggerhead with you over Jab Harry Met Sejal, BUT I too have never been fond of Kal Ho Na Ho. It is one of my least favorite SRK movies. One of the only movies I’ve seen where his chemistry wasn’t even close to as good as that between Priety and Saif.

          • I love the music of Jab Harry Met Sejal but the movie is not my favourite. Not intolerable (that goes to Zero).

Yes, the Preity and Saif chemistry was much better. However SRK and Saif had the best chemistry.

  4. Fan — I never want to see it again; I am sorry I every saw it; I get nightmares just thinking about it. But if the criteria is “Best Performance,” then it’s got to be Fan. If it was for “Favorite Performance,” I’d go with Om Shanti Om — which isn’t even on your list!

    2. JHMS (My Name is Khan is too OBVIOUS to be in the top 5 – it is like an actor cheat to play a differently abled person)
    3. Ram Jaane (long live the cartoon!)
    4.Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
    5. Darr / Dons
    6. DDLJ/Yes Boss/A whole bunch of others where I feel like he is playing himself, but playing himself well.

    • I like how you sort of group his performances into categories! Except for Fan and JHMS and RNBDJ and Ram-Jaane which resist categories. But really, Ram-Jaane?

      • Ram-Jaane is so over top. In his early films he often speed talks. But in Ram-Jaane he takes that quirk and turns his speech into its own character. He creates a cartoon, and yet, within the cartoon he is still a full fledged human, fully dimensional with all feelings. And in every scene he takes up the screen. You are never looking anywhere except for SRK in that movie. Juhi is irrelevant, and best friend is so boring he is annoying. On the one hand that makes for a lesser film, but when it comes to his singular performance, it is amazing.
