Weekend WatchAlong: Chori Chori! 7am Chicago Time! For FilmiKudhi!

I’ve downloaded from einthusan, we’ll see if that works better than streaming. But I will probably still be complaining because it is all weird.

Chori Chori

Light happy rom-com with Rani and Ajay, who wouldn’t love it? At 7am Chicago time I will put up an “and PLAY” comment and we will all comment along from there.

  1. The giant pictures of yourself in your house. I dont’ really want to think of Ajay as a narcissist, so I’m trying to believe it is a cultural thing, but my heart still screams NARCISSIST!

  2. Just pointing out that based on the many different backgrounds in his “family”, it looks like he comes from a household that has an established tradition of Found Families. Which explains why they were so quick to embrace Rani, and means Rani will fit in well with them. Really Ajay is the weird one for being all slow to trust and open his heart.

  3. I know the other time I saw them together!!! LOC Kargil, they were one of the ten million couples, and they managed to have fabulous chemistry in only a few minutes of screentime.

  4. My parents have just spent a LOT of money leveling out the floors of their house, and here he is building a house where you WALK UP to the front door, and the have a stair case down to the living room and another step up to the dining room. But it does LOOK nice.

    • I always think about mobility when I see houses split across numerous small levels like that. The hilly older neighborhood of Kansas City in which my aunt used to live was full of them and it prevented my grandparents from visiting her side of the family in situ for many years.

  5. So this is a giant fight because he got mad at her because he was falling in love? And now their plan is to get married for real and live together as friends?

  6. What if thye are both afraid to talk past the next 5 minutes because that might break the spell? It’s easier to just keep taking it one minute at a time and not think about what they will do at the actual wedding ceremony.

  7. Oh, and this also means we can get a nice clarity in the Ajay-Rani love story. She has his family, no matter what. Does she still want Ajay even without his family?

  8. But wait, not everyone falls in love!!! Sonali doesn’t fall in love, Ajay’s various single uncles and cousins and so on don’t fall in love, really it’s just two people fall in love. the tag is a LIE!

Margaret – I know this took a lot of arm twisting for which I apologize, but I hope you enjoyed it!

  10. It’s funny how much you all swoon over Ajay. I seem to recall that this was the movie where I compared him to a bed post. Might have played a role towards the fact that that group of movie watching friends knew I was gay almost before myself. πŸ˜€

    • I never ever found Ajay attractive and then this movie and De De Pyar De made me go… WTH?! Why do I find brooding, grumpy Ajay so attractive?!

Also, I swoon pretty hard over Rani in this movie too! I can’t imagine anyone not falling in love with her in this movie!
