Happy Monday! I was up at the lake house all weekend, had a lovely lovely time, and now I am ready to go see Prabhas new weird movie!!!!
Here is where you can ask me anything you want from “why didn’t you see Kalki 2898 AD earlier?” to “Did you know today is Canada Day?” Just keep swinging back here all week with new questions!
Now, question for you! Has anyone else seen Inside Out 2? I went with my parents this weekend and it is VERY EMOTIONAL. And VERY STRESSFUL. I never ever want to be 13 again, I forgot how crazy and out of control feeling that age is.
I found inside out 1 very stressful so decided to skip part 2!

What are you doing for the 4th July weekend?
When will we have our next movie zoom call?
Farah Khan started a food YouTube channel which is so hilarious! What do others here think of it?

So many good questions! I’m planning to meet up with a friend and her kid at a playground on the 4th.
We should schedule another Zoom now! I’m super busy next week, but have nothing the week after.

Omg!!!! Read my summaries, the plot is craaaaaaaaaazy complicated.

I have a recommendation for you – the movie’s name is Yaathisai. It is like Ponniyin Selvan, but made by a debutant on a shoestring budget with fellow new comers. It is available on Amazon Prime.

At the least read who the characters are and how they’re related. That way it’s easier to pay attention to the plot.

The trailer for Barzakh (with Fawad – Sanam), directed by Asim Abbasi (Cake) is here. I’ve been waiting for this since it was announced 🙂
Also Bad Newz trailer with Tripti – Vicky:

I really wasn’t expecting it but I loved Bad Newz trailer. All leads are great and it’s colorful and funny. Will watch this one.
Barzakh on the other hand is too “english” for me.

What do you mean by too english?

AHHHH I am SOOO EXCITED about Barzakh!!! I am waiting for all the episodes to become available so I can just buy one month of Zee and binge it. I am so excited for all of Fawad’s upcoming stuff. I think there are still 2 movies and 1 series still in the works from what I remember.

So I don’t know if this works in the US, but the episodes are also uploaded on the Zee Zindagi youtube channel. That’s how I watched the first episode or else I was considering subscribing to Zee.
Been hearing about his upcoming stuff for so long that I might’ve even forgotten what they are! I think there’s a movie with Mahira, a series with Mahira, Sanam, Hamza and now I hear he’s doing a movie with Vaani?

Oh good to know about Zee Zindagi Youtube. I am not sure if we have access to that in the US. Yes, from my understanding there is the movie with Mahira and Madiha Iman — Neelofer. I absolutely ADORE Madiha and loved her in Heer! Fawad is also the producer of this movie, I believe. I remember him calling it his home production.
Then there is Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo with Mahira which is going to be a Netflix show.
And finally, the new movie with Vaani which is supposed to be shot in England? Or somewhere outside of India.
I feel like there is one more that I am missing but I might be wrong.
Maybe the success of Barzakh and the press Fawad is getting will generate enough interest that Zee will finally release Maula Jatt on OTT as well. I have been waiting to see that forever!
I need some Fawad in my life!!!

It’s a crime that Maula Jatt is not streaming anywhere!

Unrelated to Kalki, but you HAVE TO watch 8 A.M. Metro. Have known this blog for 2 years now. It’s only recently that I read your Jhoom Barabar Jhoom review, and instantly searched if you’ve written something on this Gulshan Devaiah starrer… Not so. If you do fix up your mind to flick through it sometime, please slip in a review here. I’d love to read your thoughts on that one. Until then, I’m flinging through your older penmanship.
Eagerly looking forward to watch Inside Out 2 next month. It’s breaking too many records, and I love myself an animated movie. Might as well dive down for Kalki as I don’t enjoy missing out on Sir Amitabh Bachchan and Dulquer Salmaan in Hindi cinema, although I have mixed sentiments because Indian films are too engrossed with action right now. It seems like an ugly mixture of some famous Hollywood movies with no inventiveness… Just look at the costumes with no Indian touch to them! They are replicas from Mad Max. Ah, where did the sweetu romcom days go? Speaking of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom… what pretty costumes! And it had Amitabh sir too!
Happy weekend!

Oh, man. Gulshan has been my absolute favorite ever since I saw him in Shaitan (2011). Have you watched that one? Saiyami Kher was equally pleasant in 8 A.M. Metro. She got the shaky parts really well. But the movie’s ending was mad rushed, especially Saiyami’s “happy ever after” wasn’t as satisfying as it was projected.

I haven’t seen Shaitan but I feel like watching it now. I’ve been following Gulshan on socal media for a while now, and I love his sense of humour but I haven’t seen many movies with him, because majority are not my cup of tea.
Yes, the ending of 8 a.m Metro was a little rushed and forced but being honest I needed something like that after Gulshan’s heavy and sad part.

Please don’t tell me there’s hype for this disturbing film? *crosses fingers tightlyyy.* Karan Johar is headed toward the most strange director as a filmmaker who started out with platonic love stories.

It’s been to some film festivals etc. And Karan has been marketing it

Yes! I will see it for sure, but not until the 12th probably. I ended up getting a headache this night and it was the only time I could go. I’m out of town today through Weds.
