Happy Monday! I have two exciting things happening today! First, I may have Jury duty! I’m supposed to call in the afternoon to find out if I have to go in tomorrow. First Jury duty EVER. Second, I just started doing simple Core exercises in an attempt to stop having a sore back all the time. So far I have learned that my core muscles are ridiculously weak.

Continue readingHappy Monday! And Happy Cleaners Day! I’ve had these lovely ladies in once a month for over a year now and I have almost mastered not feeling like a bad person. I have the money, there’s nothing morally superior about doing your own cleaning (no matter what my crazy Germanic ghost ancestor ladies are screaming at me), and it makes SUCH a difference to know that at least once a month my floors will be scrubbed, stove top cleaned, etc. etc.
Continue readingI am SO excited! I am going to a place that is not-home to do things that are not-work for 4 whole days! Oh, and also a place that is not-winter. I got a hotel room with a balcony across the street from a park, and I’m planning to go straight from the airport to a Barnes and Noble and load up on books. And that’s it, that’s the extent of my vacation planning. Park, balcony, books, sunshine. And NOT packing my laptop so I won’t even be tempted to work. Although I am hoping to write some blog posts either on my phone or on a library computer or something.

It’s a holiday week in America so a third of my staff are out, and apparently this year all of our clients decided “instead of taking it easy because it’s a short week, I am going to try to squeeze 5 days of work into 3 days”. I’m just cranking through the work day as best I can, and then debraining with Great British Bake Off in the evening. Americans are the WORST! Why can’t we just enjoy our holiday weeks?

Nephew A is almost 4 and fearless in the “if I feel like riding my toy car down the street at 3am and the door is unlocked, I will” kind of way. My thought was, I just put my bedroll down outside the exit of his bedroom, Problem Solved. Also, leashes. It works with Albie Dog.
