Oh my gosh, weddings are exhausting! There was the run up week, and then the following week with the clearing up and organizing and still hosting international visitors. But now, FINALLY, things are sort of back to normal and I can switch to focusing on SRK Month.
The big advantage of the wedding, I got to hang out with some new people who I am now inviting to my SRK Day party. So hopefully there’s a nice mix of people at my house this year!
It’s funny, with all these out of towners staying at our house, a lot of people were seeing my lovely SRK posters etc. for the first time. And, it wasn’t weird. Indian film in general isn’t as dominant a part of my identity as it has been at other points in my life, but SRK is still a steady stable normal presence. Yes, of course I have my Dard-E-Disco poster in the bathroom, my framed DDLJ poster in the living room, and my lifesize standee greeting guests as they arrive.
That’s pretty remarkable! This year is my 20 year anniversary of SRK fandom, and while it has evolved over the years, it is as strong as ever.
SRK month is the best. Happy to be celebrating with you all! Sounds like the wedding was lovely – congrats to your housemates! 💕

I don’t love SRK as much as everyone does. I mean don’t get me wrong, I admire his hardwork and what he has achieved, that’s truly once in a century sort of achievements. He genuinely seems to be a very hardworking and sensitive person. But apart from that, I just don’t get why are people so madly in love with him. I just don’t. Is there something wrong with me?

Nothing wrong with you. Different strokes for different folks

Not at all! And you aren’t alone on DCIB. I just set aside this tiny time to really go all in for those of us who are SRKians.
