Hey! They are remaking Traffic! Well, they already remade it. They are releasing a remake of Traffic! I am a little worried that the trailer spoiled the movie.
Here is the trailer for the Hindi remake:
A couple of quick thoughts:
- Divya Dutta is going to make me cry, because she always makes me cry. HOW IS SHE SO GOOD ALL THE TIME IN EVERYTHING?!?!?
- I still don’t get Manoj Bajpayee. Possibly because I have only seen him in LOC: Kargil and Tevar. Maybe this will be the movie where I finally see him in an actual meaty role that forces him to really act?
- Jimmy Shergill should always wear a super fitted police uniform.
My big concern though, is that it gives away the big plot in the trailer. I mean, I guess no one would see the movie if it was sold as a kind of Life: In a Metro thing with a bunch of unconnected slice of life stories? But it is so cool to go along thinking you are just seeing a bunch of random people with their little problems, and then BAM! Action movie!
On the other hand, I do really want people to watch this movie. Not just because I worry about Jimmy Shergill’s career (I do! I really do. Why does no one appreciate him? He is so good in everything! From the Munna Bhai movies to Bang Bang), but because it looks like it is one of those sweet community support gestures that the film industry is so good about.
Apparently, Rajesh Pillai directed and finished it back in 2014, but it never got released. And now, all of a sudden, it has a release date! This could have been in the works for a while, but doesn’t it really feel like they rushed it out so the widow would have something to live on? Like how Manyata Dutt all of a sudden was the CEO of Sanjay’s production house and got credit on a bunch of films while he was in jail. Or even, back in the day, how everyone rallied round and finished Don after the producer died, so his widow could settle his debts.
So I hope the Hindi Traffic makes a bunch of money and it all goes to Rajesh Pillai’s family. Even if they spoil the whole twist in the trailer.
unfortunately this movie is the reason for rajeshs death..his lifestyle during filming days in bombay(too much cola and fast foods) caused his liver damage….and he could have been saved if agreed to get the treatment during the shooting of his last film vettah….but instead he decided to go on with the film…..

Then that gives me even more of a reason to hope the film does well. It looks like Vettah just had an average box office?

vettah received good critical appreciations but was average in box office…crime thrillers usually doesnt get big box office collection in kerala…first look poster for his next film motor cycle diaries was really beautiful and promising…it had an interesting plot too…was eagerly waiting for it…

You should watch Pinjar then. Manoj Bajpai was good in that. Actually, he’s good in any movie.
Jimmy Shergill – feel so bad for him. He never got what he deserved. Similar to Divya Dutta too actually.

But Pinjar is saaaaaaaaaad! Although actually, I was just thinking recently that I really should finally get around to it. Seems like a nice late wedding gift for Urmila.

Traffic is hardly getting any promotion.Just like Dum Laga ke Haisa.Decent movie but the lack of major stars and lack of promotion affected the business.Another death connected with the movie is that of Jishnu the actor who played the hero’s friend in the Hindi Traffic. And yes, Jimmy Shergill looks very macho in his policeman avatar.
Pinjar does not have a tragic ending. It’s not exactly a happy ending either. It proves the old saying that ‘you can’t go home again’.Things change, people change, circumstances change.
