I am going to be just super self-indulgent and use this holiday as an excuse to post a bunch of cute photos/videos of movie stars with babies. And as babies. And other babies who love movie stars.
1. Shahrukh re-tweeted this video years ago, and I have watched it regularly since then. They are just so happy! So very very happy! And not very well coordinated.
2. Of course, I just recently posted this video, but it is so good I feel no compunction about re-using it.
3. And just to round out the Khans, let’s look at a picture of Aamir AS a baby!

4. Okay, this isn’t the greatest movie in the world, and this isn’t even the best song from the movie (both “Mast Kalandar” and “Jana Bhi De” are much better), but oh my gosh is this baby cute cute cute! Her little tooth!

5. Okay, so the end of this song has him as a yucky big kid, not a little bitty baby. But the opening totally qualifies!

6. Jumping forward again several decades, we have this amazing Shahrukh Unilever ad! He is so charming, and babies are so cute, it totally makes me feel better about all the problems of the world.
7. Amitabh did a whole series of these ads! So hard to choose between them, but I went for the one with the most random baby sounds and movements.
8. And finally, this is a ridiculously long clip, but it is so worth it for the fight scene in the middle! Most irresponsible, and amazing, use of a baby in all of Indian film. (4 minutes to 11 minutes, if you just want the highlights)

If you’re talking about babies *in* movies, there are tons. But here’s a song that to me exemplifies the joy and thrill that a baby brings into a family:
And, since you posted that clip from Raja Hindustani (I spent the entire time of that fight trying to figure out if it was a doll or a real baby, because I couldn’t believe they would actually use a real baby in such a risky scene), I’ll post this one, because it is such an antithesis to the Aamir clip. In this, too, I spent some time wondering if it was a doll or a real baby, but, seeing how careful Salman was at all times to support the baby’s neck, concluded that it was a real baby, and wondered why Sooraj Barjatya would risk using the real baby in such an active song.

Thank you! It was so hard to resist posting that in the original post, but I already had 2 SRK related images, and it just didn’t seem fair.

Aaaawwww! This is just the best holiday! I don’t know why every culture doesn’t have a holiday that is mostly about babies.

Do you know who it is in that last photo?

I do know, but only because I google image searched it. Prabhas?!?!? SO CUTE!!!! I just watched Billa last night, so it’s very appropriate! Although he looks a lot different in Billa than in that picture 🙂

Ha ha, I really didn’t like his look that much in Billa. Or maybe, I liked his look better than the film. 🙂 Yes, that is Prabhas as a baby, dressed up to look like Krishna, so I thought it was particularly appropriate. 🙂

You do know that this is not a holiday for “babies”, right? It’s about one particular baby. The full name of the holiday is Shri Krishna Janmaashtami — the birthday of Krishna.
